Dreamboat how bout' we don't link the two together it doesn't mix well..
Happy dreaming.. :fro:
Why.........because we can't evaluate it or we would rather sweep it under the carpet ??. I just read that Hitler would not make a move without listening to his Occult Cronies. And Don't skirt the issue.............I guess many "leaders' follow the same path. (Him with Very close together eyes).
Well lets see hear Mr Dreamboat if many leaders follow the same path then that makes them followers and not leaders. A true leader is an orginial, Authentic, one who doesn't follow the same path as the next man. Anyway Im against any thing occult like Just a bunch freaks looking for a death wish.. Well thats that see ya..Quote:

I don't see how one has anything to do with the other.
I don't either, and I wish people would stop making a connection there where none really exists. It contributes to the idea some people have that lucid dreaming is only for loonies.
I never said I endorsed it. It just seems other sites link this with all kinds of other weird stuff.
Is non-lucid dreaming occult oriented too?
Occultism is way over your head if you believe people practice it as some sort of a death wish. You shouldn't write it off so hastily...Quote:

Whether you agree with the practices and beliefs taught is a different story..
This is a matter of opinion.
Regardless of your own philosophical, religious, and moral convictions, there is still much to be learned from Occult study...
In fact all major religions today have their roots firmly planted in Occultism...
Dreamboat here obviously has SOME education on gnostic and occult beliefs...
You don't have to be a gnostic to agree with some of the lessons taught by it...
and some of these lessons directly deal with the same things that are discussed on this forum... lucid dreaming... dreams in general... things of a metaphysical nature... time....
the subconsciousness... demonology... OBE's and astral projection... the list goes on and on.
So anyways... don't let your skeptic hinder your learning.
What you have said contributes to the idea that people with different beliefs are 'loonies'.Quote:

The connections are there... do you not see them, just don't care to see them, or do you not know much about the subject at hand?
I could provide you with plenty of material on gnostic beliefs that might change your mind if you let it absorb.
I don't mean to insult you at all... please know this for certain.
Don't box yourself in... that is the best advice I have for you.

The Swastika is a very ancient symbol that the Aryans used, I think to represent the Sun Divinity. The Aryans had been perhaps the most successful and widespread of the Iron Age Invaders -- Barbarians. They were so successful in overthrowing Civilizations that some such as Hitler a while ago, and such moderns as Joseph Campbell suppose that they were a superior Civilization themselves, and not just barbarians that had a special knack at destroying everything they encountered.
But what happens to many Barbarian Peoples -- the Aryans in India, the Mongols in China, the Norseman in Western Europe, is that they become Civilized by their victims. The way Arnold Toynbee puts it is that Civilization rushes into a vacuum. When ever two cultures are mixed, the more Civilized of the two will win out. so the Chinese are not huns, Europeans are not Vikings, and the Hindus are not... oh, wait, they are still rather oppressed by the Caste System imposed by the Aryans, now called Brahmins, but if they are civilized at all, it is because they came to a Civilization. they did not bring it with them.
Anyway, I would wonder whether the Swastika does have any associations apart from Barbarism. Yet there is something decidedly Pre-Civilized in the most successful Barbarians. Genghis Khan was able to regiment his Huns so that of an Army of 100,000 men, each man knew which company of 1000 he was a member of. Generally, they obeyed orders. Not Civilized, but very willing to form coherent Societies. It is sort of like the Republican Party, a paradox where they organize in groups to destroy effective Government so that individuals may exploit the masses. Well, wolves do run in packs, don't they?
But back to Swastikas, along with seeing them advance across Poland in 1939, I've seen them in India, China, Korea. I believe that from India the Swastika fanned out across Asia with the spread of Buddhism. Sanskrit, the Aryan Language, became the language of Hinduism and Buddhism, and along with the words, the Symbols went along side by side.
I think perhaps some Swastikas have been found in New World ruins, which certainly would have nothing to do with Aryan Barbarism.
However, I would think that the Swastika would have been discredited by the use the Nazis put to it. For instance, similarly with the name 'Adolf'... I've only met one younger man of the name of 'Adolf' and was quite surprised he was not ashamed of it. He was in one of those effete artist communities and I suppose he figured that nobody would forget THAT name, and certainly nobody did. and then everyone had to be more polite to him than normal in order to show we were not shallow about a name which is only a name, blah, blah, blah. Looking back at it, I suppose he quite manipulated us all. I suppose it would have been better to have called his bluff and say "Adolf are you!?" and then have kicked the living snot out of him for perpetuating the name of that horrible instance of throwback to the worst aspects of old european barbarism. We should have been past all that. Well, every fever has its last fit, and maybe that was Europe's. Now its the Americans we must worry about. And yes, in America the military surplus stores do a fair trade in Swastika banners and other nazi memorabilia... typically right next door to the gun shops. Honestly, I can't imagine how the 21st Century is going to turn out any less bloody and embarrassing to Civilization than had the 20th Century.

Dreaming is in close association with the workings of the subconscious. Its seems that if a person was into building bridges all his life and became a lucid dreamer it would be almost ensured that the lucid dreaming would be connected with the building or designs of a bridge. What’s to confuse. We are into whatever we spend most time dwelling on and of course we all dream. :)
