      Restless WILDing?

Does anybody know if the restlessness one can feel when trying to WILD is a trick the mind do on the body to check if its still awake. Since i think ive heard that the mind cant know if the "user" is still awake so it make the body restless to check. If the body moves then its awake but if it dont moves then the mind can let the body go into sleep paralysation. Have anyone else heard about this? Could be a great relief and motivation boost to have this certain.

As someone who didn't get much sleep last night due to WILD attempt, I just had to respond to this post!

I'm no expert on the scientific process of sleep, but I think the mind knows when you're asleep (or about to fall asleep) by measuring your brainwaves. When your brainwaves reach a certain point, it then kicks in the sleep paralysis - like a thermostadt controls your furnace or something.

So, unfortunately, I believe the restlessnes comes from the anxiety of you wanting to WILD. Any excitement or anticipation of reaching that "doorway" into dreamland will shoot up your brainwave frequency, pushing you out of the "sleep paralysis" range.

Relaxation is key! Good luck, Jammy!

I just remembered where i read it: http://www.ld4all.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8494

So the what happens is the body tests the mind to see if it's asleep. If you lay with a silent mind very still for about 25 minutes and are nicely relaxed, your body will eventually send a very strong signal to your mind saying \"I'm uncomfortable, please shift your position in bed.\" *

But this is just a ruse! The body is not really uncomfortable, it's just testing to see if it can get a response from the mind. If you ignore this signal, your body waits a few seconds and says \"Hmm, the mind must have gone to sleep. Time for me to do the same.\"

Hehe the explanation feels kind of right, and i hope it is. Cause there have been so many times where a massive urge to move just suddenly strikes from blue sky. It feels impossible to fight this urge, and i always tend to give up, and just go to sleep. Its not easy to ignore either. But if its something to it, offcourse i will fight my way trough the uncomfortable sensation

That would indeed be pretty awesome but for me at least it would be pretty difficult. Heres how I see it going:

      1. I lay still for 25 min
      2. I start thinking about laying still
      3. I start thinking that if I dont stop thinking I wont WILD
      4. I shift my position in bed because im mad at myself
      5. Oh damn!

I was just thinking, what about those quick "spasms" that you sometimes get while falling asleep? Is that the same thing - the body checking in with the mind?

If so, there's no control over those quick jerks.

      (heheh... that kinda sounds funny!)

Now lately ive been having a new kind of incredible irritating restlessness. Its hard to describe, but its not the restlessness that i had before, sort of. Its more like restlessness level 2! It feels like a sublimal tickling that strains the body in a sweet irritating way. And now its even harder to fight. Anyone have a similar restlessness?
