Lucid Dreaming as a Senior Thesis

Hello Dreamviews, long time no post! For some reason for the past few months I've just preferred to read over posting.

Well the time has come around that I am a senior in High School. I go to a small Christian private school which requires that I write a ~25 page thesis for my senior year that we have to memorize and present in front of the school.

It is recommended that we pick something we are passionate about, so I was thinking I needed to write my thesis about lucid dreaming.

But this raises some issues. Primarily that there aren't any issues. It is preferred to write a senior thesis on a topic that there are two sides to (e.g. Legality of abortion, Intellectual copyright laws, the existence of free will, etc.), which creates a big problem for me:
Where in lucid dreaming do people disagree on?

If anyone has ever faced any controversies within our favorite subject, please share. Or if you have ever written an essay on Lucid Dreaming, I would love to hear how it went!

      Thanks for your help, guys!

Its existance, are people really controlling their dreams and aware of it being a dream, or is it only an illusion created by the dreamy brain? It can also extend on the realm of free will.

That's a fantastic idea, Hukif, especially since my current topic (that is, if I can't have a topic relating to Lucid Dreaming) is whether or not the existence of free will is relevant to Christianity! So way to mesh my two topics! Thanks for your idea.

You are in a religious school don't you think there could be religious controversy over the topic?

You could do it on whether or not sinning in a lucid dream counts as sinning in God's Eyes.

rybreads idea is pretty good id say, other than that, not much controversy most people just believe what they want to believe

Thats so cool! Don't forget to add the fact that we actually can communicate with people outside a dream, when we're in a lucid dream by using our eyes. F. Ex. If you look to the right in a lucid dream/dream, you'll look to the right in the real world too

A good point is the argument of Shared Dreaming, because it conflicts with believable (proven) science.
Check out Beyond Dreaming if you want conflicts in ideas, but if I'm honest there isn't that much to disagree on when it comes to dreaming.

This is an awesome idea! I am going to be doing my senior project on lucid dreaming in a couple of years now.
