      Unhappy DILD Stabilisation Help.

Hey, I've been into lucid dreaming for around 9 months now and have become quite good at DILDs, however, I struggle to stay in them.

For example, last night I was in a DILD and the dream was at a party. After what seemed like maybe 1 minute 30 seconds I was losing stability, so I dream spun and ended up in another scenario which included an other-worldly landscape which I wanted to explore, however, after maybe 30 seconds I lost it again and woke up.

It's really frustrating because attaining lucidity is hard enough but not being able to have time within them is simply depressing. I've tried the rubbing hands together technique initially but it doesn't seem to work for me.

Also, my dream control seems ok, I can conjure the exact people I want and make them do what I want them to. I just really need help on how to prolong the lucidity.

      Thank you, Fungi

It's great you've had success with DILDs, keep it up!

Dreaming spinning can be used for two things: teleporting by imagining and visualizing a location of your choice as you spin, or stabilization. Next time you become lucid, spin but do it fairly slowly; it's just so you can get a 360-degree view of your surroundings. The more you focus on the dream, the easier it will be to prolong it.

Also, rubbing your hands is one of many different things you can do in terms of tactile (sense of touch) stabilization. The sense of touch can be one of the more vivid senses in a dream, so touch anything you can. If you see different buildings or objects, head towards the ones with the most texture, like brick walls, stucco, or even look down at the ground and expect there to be a pile of dirt; imagine how the single pieces will feel as you pick it up and let the soil fall from your hand. And once you've done that, remember to slow down and take your time in the dream! Don't feel like you have to rush to get things done, because the dream might pick up on that; since you believe the dream will end soon, it actually will. Relax and enjoy your lucidity!
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.
