It's great you've had success with DILDs, keep it up!
Dreaming spinning can be used for two things: teleporting by imagining and visualizing a location of your choice as you spin, or stabilization. Next time you become lucid, spin but do it fairly slowly; it's just so you can get a 360-degree view of your surroundings. The more you focus on the dream, the easier it will be to prolong it.
Also, rubbing your hands is one of many different things you can do in terms of tactile (sense of touch) stabilization. The sense of touch can be one of the more vivid senses in a dream, so touch anything you can. If you see different buildings or objects, head towards the ones with the most texture, like brick walls, stucco, or even look down at the ground and expect there to be a pile of dirt; imagine how the single pieces will feel as you pick it up and let the soil fall from your hand. And once you've done that, remember to slow down and take your time in the dream! Don't feel like you have to rush to get things done, because the dream might pick up on that; since you believe the dream will end soon, it actually will. Relax and enjoy your lucidity!
