Thread: This has been puzzling me...

Since REM sleep is near the end of the dream cycle, how is it that when you do a WILD that you conciously go directly to the dream? why happens to all of the other stages? Is that where all of the vibrations and sounds/imagry comes from?

I can't seem to figure it out by myself, so I'm posting here.

Because you wake up in the early morning where you have had all the "other" sleep you need and your about to move into REM. So whenever you start to do the second part of WILD you will move directly into REM.

what about when you just go directly into it when your first going to sleep?

Then that wouldnt be a WILD because it invloves going to sleep then waking up later in the wee hours to try to induce a lucid dream.

I dont think its possible to do a WILD in the beginning stages of sleep. If it is then its rare.

I'll vouch for that. My lucid dreams are allways in the morning, when I've felt the sunlight on my eyes, then fallen asleep again... regardless of how I try to induce them.

What about experiencing REM sleep or LDs from a 30 minute afternoon nap? Is it because your body is still replenished from the previous night's sleep, that it can go straight to REM? I've gone straight into dreams from afternoon naps.

Matchbook, i believe you are correct

Anyway you CAN do it at night, BUT you have to wait like hours before you can successfully get into a WILD because it takes that long. So when you do it at night, you have to wait untill you get to a REM cycle. Thats why its not recommened at night, but still do-able.

alright, thanks for helping me figure it out. I'll try to iduce lucid dreams differently than WILD at night, so I can actually get some rest.

Yeah...I tried it once at night. And it literally did take me about 3 hours to finanlly get into the WILD. I was exausted the next day. Never agian.
