haha I'm 20! Thank you, I usually hate reading but this sounds interesting. I've never been concerned about my erotic dreams, I think they're awesome. I just wonder if anyone else experiences them as often as I do. I've only really told 2 of my best girlfriends and they never have. Honestly,... I loved the movie Inception, but I started kicking myself in the ass knowing that the movie was going to end up doing the same thing that movies always do: take certain ideas and publicly discredit them. (Its a psychology thing. Of course dream sharing is going to seem like a 'fun movie concept' and nothing more after someone decides to build a movie around it. =P)

Yeah, I've had this happen before too. Funny thing is, the most intense one was one in which I didn't even have sex...It was more akin to a profound drug experience, the only difference being that I was dreaming, and alongside a female...which makes me think that was what caused it? I have no idea though, but I woke up with my entire body pulsing from it--pretty much the greatest feeling of all time.

the study i read they actually measured the skin tissue of that area to see if there was any blood flow or if it got wet. they had the female who was a everyday lucid dreamer signal to them through eye movements by looking left and right 3 times when she had her orgasm so they knew when the reading was accurate. strangely enough, the machine showed that women have no physical response down there in real life even though they experience a full orgasm in their dream. Men on the other hand do...make a mess

yea been alil while sense i read it so i could be alil off, also in the study the subjects stayed sleeping the whole time, not sure if that matters

Maybe learning about dream control and stabilization may help? I remember that at one point, my dream control was so awful that I would wake up as soon as I became lucid. And this became what happened every time because I believed it would. So I do know that dreams can become stabler and more robust when you start believing they will.

There is a lot of group think as to how to keep your dreams from falling apart, and they always involve checking and rechecking, stabilizing and re-stabilizing, which I don't actually like the idea of. I believe that you can go through intense experiences while the dream remains stable, but you may have to build that up with experiences and confidence. Your subconscious beliefs and internalization play a HUGE role in dreams. While you occasionally consciously manipulate things and play God, the subconscious does a majority of the work. Understanding this has been working for my own control so far

And don't worry about others not liking to talk about it much. I know it sucks, but people's identities tend to be fragile and because of that, they are dependent on what others think as well as social stigmas. Be proud that you have an identity that is strong and acts independently from what others think! That's not exactly easy to achieve. Just understand that people's negative reactions are never actually personal and they always come from some insecurity they have within themselves. And because of that, in the end you've gotta feel sorry for them because they're living in a world of constant worry and fear of committing a social faux pas. And that's not living, that's some level of suffering right there.

The reason these ideas can be so taboo and the reasons different people's (and gender's) sexuality are misunderstood tend to be because of the various social stigmas associated with gender differences, sex, etc., as well as what different people find attractive. For most guys, it's obviously usually visual, whereas for women, looks are often a small part of the equation (from what different women have told me, my general experiences and what I have seen). A visually hot, whiny, insecure, quiet, jealous, neurotic guy isn't exactly as attractive as an average looking secure, confident, outgoing, fun-loving, leading man. Even through a heterosexual male's perspective, who would you rather spend most of your time as friends?

I would love it if everyone was more open about everything. If people were comfortable talking about themselves, meeting new people, etc. etc. etc. But, things are the way they are and the best way to improve things is through unapologetic action. Lead by example. Those who feel the same way will follow. But that's another topic all it's own. lol xD

Yeah, I see what you mean. I guess really because of current culture and social stigmas people often feel gender separation. Even within someone's own gender I find many people keep to themselves about their own issues and eventually it develops into a catastrophic problem. An example of this I would think would be the massive numbers of people with depression. I wonder how much of that could be solved if people were more open to discussion.

I think depending on how deep of a dream state you find yourself in depends if it effects you on a physical level when you have sex and oragasm. I've had both. A mess in the morning and lots of lucid dream sex and no mess.

I think the true problem lies in peers not wanting to hear about others' problems. Now, don't get me wrong, there are plenty of people that do, but a large majority of the population (at least that I've interacted with) are indifferent and don't care unless it's a really close friend. There are only a few people that I'd ever talk with about my problems, and I've either known them my entire life or are really close friends.

Also, guys are raised to be "tough" and never get emotional and never talk about "mushy" stuff, because that's what a "wussy" does. I'm sure you all have noticed from your interactions that much more women than men freely talk about their problems--I know that this is the case for what I've seen, anyways.
