      You think this might work?

I haven't read a lot about devices used to induce LDs but I was thinking about this today. I got one of those noise makers that imitate the beach or rain or thunder or a train or somthing like that which is supposed to relax you. Maybe if I put on the thunder one it would influence my dreams and before going to bed I would focus and remembering to do an RC if I ever hear or see lightening in my dreams. Any comments?

Also, what sound do u think would be most effect :

      Ocean Surf
      Thunder Storm
      White Noise
      Rain
      Summer Night
      Steam

There are also a bunch of other ones that are just kinda trippy tones called "serenity, unwind, celestial, meditate, focus and rejuvinate"

I think normal sounds would be better to remind me to do an RC though.

Sounds like a good idea. I think the thunder one would work better, since its the most striking one that might get your attention. you should just experiement with it though. see if you get any changes in your dreams like if you set it on rain, will it rain it rain in your dream? should be interesting

      Dear Simpsin,

Any suggestion is better than no suggestion at all. But there are many forms of suggestion you could implement that don't require you writing a check or submitting your credit card.

Also, many people assume that indirect suggestions are somehow more effective than direct suggestions -- that their Mind will consent to give them what they ask as long as they don't ask for much. But consider, would it not be more direct and ultimately easier to suggest to your Higher Mind that you simply become aware in your Dreams that you are Dreaming -- that you simply get the Realization of Lucidity as an awareness that comes to you while you are dreaming, like any other idea that could occur to you through mental suggestion. Wouldn't that be much simpler and more effective than your intricate idea of play strange sounds while awake with the suggestion that if you hear such strange sound while dreaming, that instead of supposing that such sounds are occuring naturally, as they do, that it is a signal that you must be dreaming. What is the purpose of overcomplicating and elaborating what could remain the simplest of suggestions -- "While Dreaming I will realize I am Dreaming".

Cause that hasn't worked so far and I've been trying pretty hard.

If I am dreaming and I have fallen asleep with my headphones on, Normally towards the morning I can hear the music.....Which sometimes plays some kind of role in the dream. I havn't tried using it to become lucid.

Would be an interesting experiment. Use thunder I think that would be most effective.....

I would tend not to do that though I'd rather have no noise or interference when lucid. Even if it is my fav song. Or thunder or anything like that.

If you try this and find a few things out about your experience with it I would be interested to know.

      thanx
