Unfortunately I've never met anyone in RL that has had a lucid that they can recall. The 3 answers I get are 1. "I dont dream", 2. "I had a really bad nightmare and kept telling myself to wake up", 3. "I had a dream about having a dream". I suppose 2 could sort of count as you're obviously aware of your nightmare otherwise you wouldn't be willing yourself to wake up.. |

I have #2's a lot, do those count as LDs?? Mine are Demonic and Scary as freak sometimes and I'm almost always ending up trying to wake myself up.. I do have those normal LDs too a lot of the time but, I have more Nightmare LDs than normal LDs. I didn't know I had such a special gift.. I guess it's really envied around here |
|
Maybe because the nightmare ones really hold your attention, and the nice ones are fairly boring so you are not as focused? |

I hear ya. It seems like our society doesn't value dreams much. Laberge stated this in an interview. He said that society treats dreams as trivial events to be forgotten. I was explaining to my sister, at a sushi bar, my first lucid dream where I attempted to fly. All of a sudden a couple across the bar started laughing at me. I suppose they thought I had either too big an imagination or was acting childish and should be embarrassed. I get the feeling after talking to other people that they think the same thing--that it's a waste of time. To each his own, I guess. Their loss. |

This is appropriate because it was just a few days ago that I realised that there is no reason to be jealous of people that can do something better than you, even if it's almost without effort. |
|
im not jealous of her, tommo. i was just flabbergasted that i have been living with a person for 5 years, and never knew that we had this in common, this thing that almost no one knows about. AND she is very proficient at it, its not like she is some noob. i find it amazing. but im still pissed off i never knew it before. |

The evening hangs beneath the moon, a silver thread on darkened dune.
With closing eyes and resting head; I know that sleep is coming soon.
Upon my pillow, safe in bed,
A thousand pictures fill my head,
I cannot sleep , my mids aflight;
and yet my limbs seems made of lead. ---Whitacre's Sleep---
I understand fully. My mom told me when i was little (around 3) that you can control your dreams if you want. |

Jealousy is a natural reaction. It doesn't mean I despise those people, it's just the feeling you get, like when you are happy when you win something; it happens. |
|

Yeah, but I can't think "How do they do that?" about naturals. They do it without effort, you can't learn that. |
|
......
So they just do it without a cause? |
|
Or their brain is wired a different way to most people. Like they could naturally pay more attention to their surroundings and spend less time day dreaming. This contributes to LDs, resulting in easier LDs. Now I wouldn't be able to do this naturally, but if someone else, like me did it, I could be inspired by them and ask them how they did it. They could help me, instead of just saying "I dunno, I do it all the time." |
|
......
Become one of them then, through time.. Its possible from what I've seen here. |

Goals:
1. Attacking my enemies instead of running away from them~ Ultimately taking control of my dream situation.
2. Remember that I can always summon a shield around me to protect myself in dreams. No need to fear!

Gah, I have a friend just like that. Complete natural. He used to get a lucid almost every day, and still does pretty regularly (2-3/week). But every time I try and talk to him about it, he seems uninterested and doesn't ever cooperate. |

Oh well PXUmais, at least you will eventually get loads of them, and be able to do what you want, while he will just ignore them and they will eventually fade from his mind and he won't use their full potential. |

And that, my friend, is winning. |
