Hi everyone,
After reading lots on here last night I decided to try to impose some voluntary action on my lucid dreams. As my husband just looks at me funnily I thought I'd share the experience here.
I've always had very vivid dreams and have lucid dreams fairly often, never voluntarily induced though. I really liked the idea of trying to enter a lucid state of my own volition and try to gain some control. So, last night before bed I firmly told myself that I would remember to do reality checks throughout the night.
First remembered dream started of in a minecraft like setting (a blocky, primary colour type world). I remembered to do a reality check, looking at my hands, told myself, yes, this is definately a dream, got really excited and woke up. Doh!
I then reentered the same dream but without being lucid and a story unfolded in a small village which included lots of grubby bugs.
I tend to wake up a fair bit in the night so I kept doing checks using my alarm clock. Early morning this definately had an effect. I do find that I often have lucid dreams induced by my bladder
I kept dreaming about the loo, waking up and checking the clock and realising that it was still a dream. Dream about going to the loo in the dream so obviously lost my lucidity, then wake up properly. This then repeated several times. I do hope to progress to doing more fun things in lucid dreams than going to the loo =)
Anyways, I was quite pleased that the reality checks were working and hope to maintain lucidity longer in a non bladder related dream tonight =)
