      Alcohol and dreams

Hey all, I have a question about drinking before dreaming. Obviously drinking is awful for drinking in general but what about nights where i drink and then am up for awhile before i fall asleep and the alcohol effects wear off? I would like to know this because i feel like i LD more when I am in the right mindset but if i drink i have no "LD confidence" so i wont have one. Thanks in advance!

If your mental state already leads to thoughts of failure drinking and dreaming don't mix for you. I have also heard drinking can reduce REM sleep but don't quote me on that.

I have heard that also so that is why i am wondering about this. It isnt the drinking that is the problem but it is the mindset. Since I have heard that it is nearly impossible to lucid after you drink then i dont even try to think about it before i sleep. But if i know that i can then my mindset will change. If anyone has any info on the science of drinking, if sobering up erases those issues, or any experiences with drinking and LDing that would be great! Thanks Zebrah for your input

After the effects have worn off it's all in your head. If you tell yourself it doesn't affect your dreams it doesn't. So to help you along I'll imprint this in your mind.

      Alcohol doesn't effect dreaming!

Actually Zebrah, alcohol suppresses REM, which if given enough time will become a REM rebound. I always dream ALOT more the day after I've been out drinking, or even the same night if I sleep long enough.

Facepalm. I already acknowledged that earlier. I was just imprinting that on his brain.
