I was thinking about trying the DEILD method to chain multiple LDs together and I wanted to ask some questions. 1. How long is the Transition from SP to Dream because the thought of being paralised scares me? 2. Is this method effective at making your lucid experience better and longer? 3. Any tips?

When I DEILD, there is no sleep paralysis. Or at least I don't notice it. It takes 5-30 seconds. When you sense in the dream that you are waking up, just keep visualizing the scene. Remain still and feel the intent to re-enter the dream at the same point. You'll get sucked back into the dream. If it doesn't happen after a minute, no worries. It won't work 100% of the time and that's okay. Just move on and write it up in your dream journal.

Yeah, there is SP, it wouldn't work if there wasn't.

If you're afraid of SP, you don't really understand it. Forget what you read about people who open their eyes, see monsters, and can't move their body, that's an extreme case. All most people ever experience is a powerful tingling sensation with flashes of color and odd sounds. It would seem really dramatic but your half asleep. When it happens it's more of a "ooh pretty colors" than "OMG monsters!" kinda thing.

You sort of do experience it in a DEILD. When you begin to feel the tingling (best I can describe it) you know the dream is ending. Just hold your focus on the dream and you'll be back in a matter of seconds. Not a big deal.

I don't fear SP, I fear the uknown. I am going to try it regardless of fear.
