Can you explain what you mean by "dreaming of lucid dreaming" a little more? Are you watching yourself experiencing a Lucid Dream from a third-person perspective? Or are you first person? If you're first person, then I would suggest that you try some reality checks. I know that sometimes reality checks wont always work, and so I've got a number that I run through. Perhaps dreaming about lucid dreaming just isn't the right kind of check you need to actually become lucid. Am I right in saying that your dreams aren't actually Lucid?

How am I supposed to do a reality Check if I can't control anything!?
Maybe I am aware that I'm dreaming, but my mind just dosen't care and won't let me do anything lol.

If you make it a habit during the day, then that same habit will carry over while your asleep. For instance, my reality check is the mirror. During the day whenever I'm in the washroom, I'll check my reflection, look away, then look back to make sure its the same and is nice and clear. I've done it so much during the day that I start dreaming of scenes with mirrors and I'll automatically do my reality checks. Whenever I do, I become Lucid. It may not happen often, but whenever a mirror is present, it works.

And MindGames makes a good point I didn't mention. Even when you're Lucid you need to remember to do reality checks. False awakenings can suck...
