      First LD Experience

Hello all I would like to explain my first LDing experience and get some feedback.

Ive been keeping a DJ for about a week along with keeping a waking journal before I go to bed. Also Ive been doing a RC daily. My RC is looking at my pointer finger because I closed my trunk on it so it is purple under the nail. Also I watched the subliminal Lucid video last night.

My first dream started out being extremely vivid and after most of the action happened I found my self in the bathroom peeing. As i was peeing i looked at my finger and realized it wasnt purple under my nail. I second guessed myself and looked at my hand and I had 7 fingers. After this i realized i was dreaming and proceeded to have sex with the next girl i saw. The sex was extremely realistic and towards the end I woke up.

I fell back asleep and found myself in an office with a lady telling me that the book i published is becoming popular (i have no clue what this book was), then i looked at my finger and realized it wasnt purple so again i proceeded to have sex with the lady and woke up.

I fell back asleep and My last dream I was in a movie theatre, i looked at my finger and it wasnt purple so I walked outside. I was walking around a plaza that the theatre was in and tried the fly. The first attempt was unsuccessful but then i told myself that i have always been able to fly and i got off the ground for about 5 seconds and landed. Again i found an attractive girl, had sex with her, and woke up.

I am wondering if 3 LDs in the same night is normal for my first time and also if the video caused this or if it was my DJ along with my RC since that is what made me realize I was dreaming? Thanks in advance for your answers!

Three lucids is a great start, congrats!

I wouldn't recommend your RC though, because although it worked this time, your dream may not always make it purple/not purple. It's pretty much chance, which isn't as reliable as the nose-plug or finger-count RC. You were aware enough, from doing lucid activities in real life, that you realized something wasn't right when you looked at your finger, and proceeded to double-check. That's often how lucidity comes about; you suddenly realize something is off, or just that you're dreaming, and do a RC to make sure.

Your dream control seems to be pretty good, too.

I'm unsure if the subliminal lucid video is the cause, because it doesn't necessarily increase your overall consciousness in waking life or in a dream. If you read about lucidity alot, though, it might end up in your dream.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Three lucids in one night is an awesome start! Keep it up and you'll have alot of them in no time Like Puffin said, you should change your RC into something else. Counting fingers and plugging your nose to see if you can breathe is a very good double RC.

As for the dreamsex. When you're asleep, your "primal side" is dominant. Fear becomes like an avalanche, and because our need to mate is very strong. It will consume you if you let it. It can be very hard to resist these urges, but it is very possible with training. Set up a goal and really focus on getting it done. Something you want more than just simple sex.

Good luck in the future! And I expect some sweet DJ entries from you hehe. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or Puffin

      Keep on dreaming!

I lolled at how when you became lucid all you did was have sex with women.

Also to Matte87, what reasoning do you have that these primal senses will consume him. I'm aware of the avalanche analogy but I don't see how giving in to sex will make all your lucid dreams about sex.

I assumed that he had trouble controlling it as he engaged in sex in all three dreams. I just meant that seeing a hot, naked blonde might become too much to resist. There is nothing wrong with dreamsex though, and if you enjoy doing it, then go for it!

It's just as good to think about all the impossible things you can do in a dream, too!

The impossible things made possible is why I am doing this. I don't mind having a bit of fun sometimes, but stuff I can do IRL, I do IRL

Thank you for all the quick responses! I think that as long as my RC keeps working i am going to stick with it, once it stops working i will change it. I like it because it is easy to do without going out of my way and anytime i look at my hand it reminds me to do it opposed to plugging my nose. I am hoping that my lucids will continue and wont be just a one time thing.

Instead of waiting for it to stop working. Just start using multiple RCs. If it's not too big a hassle. I've had a total of 1 ld from the looking at your hand method. My hand was weird with like fingers sticking in all wrong directions.

Yeah, you should start looking at your whole hand instead of your finger. The more you use a RC which won't work later on, the more used you will get to using it. That's never good. Get used to something which will work no matter what. Good luck!

Ha man congrats on such a great start. I was just happy to have dream recall my first night. But you got three lucids all in one night, that's awesome. I'll be checking to see if you have more
