I wonder what the goal of all this is. |

IM IN UR DREEM VUUZ 4UM....
Dreams in my expereince don't offer much freedom from real life after doing it for 4 years non-stop. But it has built up a sense of what reality is as compared to dreams and the thought to action relationship that would affect both in dreams and reality. I used to think that I could have a second life in dreams after learning about lucid dreaming but as the years passed it proved it cannot be used that way because there's a gap too big a gap between waking and dreaming unless it's possible to stay in cryogenic stasis and dream the entire lifetime then yes another life. So you ask what's the goal of lucid dreaming...in my opinion the goal of doing it is to fulfill something that would otherwise be diffcult or impossible to do in real life and have the satisfaction of having 'done' it, it's more of a symbolic achievement than actual achievenment like say winning the Olympics and everyone knows you won it...an inner achievement that noone knows except myself. So my suggestion is that if you want to use lucid dreaming as a way to be free it may be inappropriate and would cause more unhappiness than before you took it up. Dreams are dreams they fade and disappear when one awakes and all you have is the memory of it and that's up to you how you want to use the memory of what you dreamed and incorporate it into real life and make real life more meaningfull. |

I'm not on DV much these days, but I'll try to toss a cool dream or two into my DJ.
Every environmental acquisition system of a living organism has the same general definition. So the answer, although may be stated in almost infinite particulars, there is only one absolute answer. |

To understand my self, to overcome my fear of death, and to discover just how connected we all are on other frequencies of consciousness. |

I often feel as if I am training for something...But what? Luckily Dream Views exists to hash out all of these issues! Discussing these topics in the waking world is a gamble indeed... |
|
Personally, my overall goals are 1) to understand myself and my mind better, 2) to have as much fun as possible doing it, and 3) to visit places that don't exist and do otherwise impossible things. |

Short-term lucid goals: [X] Move an object with my mind [ ] Create a portal and use it to get to a dream scene of my choice [ ] Meet one of my book characters
Long-term lucid goals: [ ] Visit the Dream World Academy [ ] Make a building appear at will [ ] Change my appearance to disguise myself as someone else [ ] Find the end of a rainbow
Im thinkin yea, potential is high, when we look to things like meditation and conscious dreaming, we see with focus you can control your mind. But i dont know how much power or control you can find from lucid dream,. i kinda think that if u can have frequent lucid dreams and are able to have some sort of control of ur sub conscious than it might carry over to have more control over ur conscious life. with manifestation and mind over matter. |

i disagree that the weak fear death. I feel that the ill informed fear death because, people who are vivid dreamers, people who do LSD and other psycotropic drugs, and people who have had other worldly or spiritual experiences would understand that death isn't something to fear, but i do not think this seemingly innate fear is weak. |

The goal of lucid dreaming, for me, is to exercise the abilities and ideas I'll never be able to flex in real life. I want to do things, even if they seem mundane, that I know I'll never be able to do in real life. My goal with lucid dreaming is to just live more completely. |

As children we believe anything is possible. As adults, we need to remember it.
