Techniques you use when searching for someone during a lucid

I've tried calling out a specific person's name while walking around corners and opening doors but that method's only proven to be moderately successful. I've heard phone calls during lucids can be an effective method of "summoning" someone but I've never been able to find a phone during my dreams. One thing seems to work (for me at least) is trying to create a window/portal while reminding myself that I'm searching for X. I rarely remember to do this during lucids but the few times I've tried this technique, it's worked perfectly.

What techniques do you guys use when you're trying to find someone in particular?

Like you, I've tried the door technique and in crowds, I generally think of who I want to see. But I've had only moderate success with that. I'll try that portal/window method, see if it works for me. I've heard it generally helps to think of a logical reason why that person would be behind said door or around said corner. Never remember to do that though.

      1. Turn around and expect them to be behind me.
      2. Stand there or walk, and expect them to tap me on the shoulder. I turn around and they're there.

Those methods sure beat searching for a DC the whole time!
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

That is what I would do, just turn around and expect them to be there. If they are not there, then try a few more times.

I just teleport them to me or summon them, always works.

I haven't had lot of LDs but in the few ones I had, I always tried the turning around technique. If the face of the person is not quite clear, I will do the turning again, until the person looks the way I want them to. Worked pretty well one time. Man LD is amazing.
