So, do Humans always have to be Unrealitisc in dreams?

I"m a newbie. I have been reading and practicing with reality checks.

And in various texts about lucid dreaming and doing reality checks, they talk about for example looking at your hands and inspecting your fingers.. If they look unusual, then that tells you it may be a dream.

So that's where i'm worried. What if in my lucid dream i want to meet real humans or perhaps meet a girl. I don't want to meet a girl that looks like an alien with 3 heads or something.

Can we make it so that the humans look realistic?

Well, for the most part, all of my non lucid dreams with humans have always had humans that look real and anatomatically correct. But just now that i've been reading about reality checks, it gets me thinking "Will Women in my dreams or humans and even myself..look weird always?"

If you want her to look like that she will, otherwise she wont look disformed in any way...i think.

Nop, they don't always look weird, which is why for some people those RC doesn't work.

I've always been wondering about the "look your fingers" RC. How many lucid dreamers actually have deformed hands? I've never seen mine any other way (except few times when my body has been fully modified). I'd say my dream characters are pretty normal, just that I don't remember seeing anyone ugly lately

There are always exceptions though.

Yea, not always. You'll always come across those, 'WTF?' situations that may or may not make you go lucid. But if you DO become lucid, and see that people are disfigured, just try turning around, saying something like, "I'm in a room filled with normal people" and just imagine them looking normal. Chances are when you turn back around, they'll look normal.

When your thinking they might be ugly, they probably will. Since you see humans everyday, you'll probably see humans in dreams all the time.

I have yet to have a lucid with my hands looking odd, my reflection in a mirror looking distorted, or anyone else looking unrealistic. It's a matter of experiencing lucid dreams for yourself. If you have genuine expectation for things to seem real in your lucid dreams, they sure will. In a lucid dream, you can change the experience itself so you either feel like you're in a cloudy dreamworld, or like you're really alive in a second world that's as real as the computer you're looking at right now, reading my post on. That's where the whole "lucid dreams feel real" comes from. It's heavily dependent on your expectation. Want a realistic girl? There she is.

Well, remember that you control the dream. So you can control what everyone looks like. It's not like everyone looks unusual or anything.

It can happen even when you expect it to be a totally normal lucid experience. Having a lucid where your girlfriend appears as your sister is NOT something I wanted to have happen, even though I was expecting for her to look like she does in real life, but there she went shapeshiftin'. I find it's more a necessity of concentration combined with belief instead of simply belief itself.

I had one the other night where I was in a huge house party. People were packed almost elbow to elbow. I was walking around staring at everyone's face to see what kind of lifelike characters the dream could create. Even with that many people, every person still looked as unique and lifelike as in waking reality.

So in short, don't worry about it.
