VERY strange dream, how could this happen?

well first it started at a football game (i normally hate football) and there was a huge slide to the seats i was about to go on. really weird. but then i looked to my side and saw a guard wearing a gasmask. I thought to myself "is there going to be a terrorist attack here? oh wait! im dreaming!" then i bursted awake because i freicked out so much. I never DILD, i always try to wild. but this was strange. How did i notice i was awake?

another weird thing was, after i fell back asleep, my dream was that i was really this fish humanoid, and i lived on a island beach and met another fish humanoid thing. it was a cool dream. although heres the strange part; I couldnt breathe underwater.
what i mean is i felt like i was holding my breath, and i couldnt go under for more then 20 seconds, making the dream horrible because of my trouble breathing. I dont know if i was really holding my breath in real life, or if it was because i woke up with my nose clogged up and had a little trouble breathing then. Does anyone here know whats going on?

Pfft, being unable to breath isn't that weird, I can't use the nose-pinch RC because of that reason, it always fails. Also, you just had a natural DILD, nothing weird in that, either lol

One or two!? Heck no! Kids often have them, and a lot of nightmare become lucid nightmares, where people try to wake themselves.

Natural DILDs don't wake people up normally because they don't what realising you're dreaming actually means. Though I myself have never waken up in a DILD because of getting too excited.

And about not being breathing underwater, I once had a dream where there was a giant wave. I tried to swim to the surface but eventually I had to inhale. It was just as breathing through your shut nose in the RC.
Another dream I had was last night, where someone was trying to strangulate me because I was in the bathroom for too long and he was having hard time suppressing. My breathing was like trying to breath trough thick cloth or a pillow. I eventually woke up breathing heavily but otherwise completely normally. I was on my back so I hadn't been breathing through the pillow.
