      My first lucid!!!!

I finally had my first lucid last night! It only lasted about 10 seconds, but still lucid dream nonetheless. I remember the non-lucid part of it as one of the most clear dreams I've ever had, so maybe that played a part in me finally realizing I was lucid, the fact that I was more aware inside the dream.

I was at school, in a computer lab, and everyone was on the computer. I start looking at what everyone was doing on their computer screens (for some reason in a dream, whenever I look at computer screens, the entire display fills my field of vision, as if the screen is my dream) and everyone was playing this weird game. I looked at one screen, and someone was coding, and the letters and symbols were clear, they didn't make any sense in any programing language, but were definite symbols. (This is why I think this dream was clearer)

Anyways, this is where i become lucid, and it was very weird. I somehow wind up playing some simulation thing (cant remember what it was) but I go to the options, and one of them is 'control dreams' I select that, and everything becomes slightly fuzzy and dream-feeling. My surrounding changes, and my mind suddenly kicks in and I think 'wait' I am dreaming. but by the time I realized this my dream had already started to fade, I instantly became excited, then calmed down right afterword, tried to use stabilization techniques (rubbed my hands together and used verbal commands) but it was no use. The dream slowly faded out, and then the view of my room slowly faded in. (unfortunately I didn't think to perform a DEILD at the time, even though for reasons I describe below about sp, it would have been perfect)

On another note, several good things came of this
      1. my first lucid dream
      2. I got to experience sleep paralysis! while I was slowly waking up, I could actually feel the sleep paralysis, and the numbness throughout my body
      3. I think I know why I have trouble becoming lucid, I think it's because I'm not aware enough of my dreams, and my mind is not awake enough during my dreams, so my mind is basically a zombie watching what happens in the dreams.

thanks, I hope I start having more as my sleep schedule starts to become less erratic. Hopefully next time I'll remember to try to DEILD, and then maybe I can go through a dream for more than 10 seconds.

Congrats! I have only had a few lucid dreams and the last one was very short. As it began to fade tho I rubbed my hands together and was able to snap back to it so you should try that next time.
