      yeah, starting off on the ground is odd - but it can also be a way to naturally enter another dream scene because you associate it with falling asleep. try staying calm and focusing on some element of the dream and see if you can stay asleep. often it's just that specific setting that is unstable. in other words, if you let your vision fade out it'll be replaced, hence the period of (non-lucid) dreams you might have just after the lucid dream (think false awakening).
