Would you prefer more people knew about lucid dreaming

      I don't think I would.

I know it sounds a bit selfish but I don't think I'd like it if loads of people knew about it.

It would make it feel a bit less special and more mundane.

      What are your thoughts?

Oh, I dunno. If more people did it, then more common problems could be solved, and more solutions/support would be around. Also, more companies would make cheaper products to aid with LDing.

No, for reasons similar to reasons in this thread.

i have a feeling if it reached a certain level of popularity it would be another monetary gain for the ruling class....

ie. cartoons about it, tv talk shows, tv dramas, toys, food products, clothing, shoe ware, jewelry, more direct movies geared at LD'ing. They would mass market the idea, and slowly milk it for every penny they could, cheapening it, then once it becomes boring they would begin to find ways to demolish the idea, it would be called a "fad" and would slowly be very "un-cool".

I want it to spread, but on a more personal level and maybe not world wide... i dunno, but if it became a cheap cash crop, i would be sorely disappointed.

"There's nothing better than knowing what it's like to fly like superman. Being fully aware of the air whipping by you, controlling every movement of every single atom in your body with a single thought. It's real freedom, and there's not a word good enough to describe it, so I'll just call it dreamy for now."

Honestly, I wouldn't be complaining if I were able to make some money off my lucid skillz. Unfortunately, or fortunately, LDing will never become mainstream until someone engineers a way to induce instant lucidity. There's just too much work required to achieve any degree of proficiency for the average "consumer."

I guess it is true that people won't really care about it until there is an instant machine...

But there would be people like my mom who usually has dreams that would love to know what lucid dreaming is... But they don't.

I think it's fine the way it is. If some people never find out about it in their life, no matter how good LDing is it's just is. And they won't lose anything since they never knew it exist. But of course I think those people who actually yearn and practice their LDing deserve their LDing.... .GRR lol

As I always say, would like it to be mainstream, would make for so much interesting talks everywhere.

ANd I don't think money would be a problem, video games are to make money and yet they are still "cool", so LDing wouldn't go down from there!

To me, lucid dreaming is not a hobby. Talking about, writing about lucid dreaming may be considered a hobby by some, but we dream every night, why not enjoy it?

I think lucid dreaming is something our ancestors did on a nightly basis, and we are only recently reclaiming our sacred right.

The more lucid dreamers in the world, the better the world would be.

Everyone is fantastic, and beautiful, and mundane, and boring, and special.

      So, yes.
