During dreaming, non-lucid dreaming, the only part of the brain inactive during the synthesis of the dream is the part of the brain controlling logic. Therefore our dreams are a medium of creation unrestrained by logic and reason.
Albert Einstein, Neil Bohr, 'Doc' from Back to the Future. These people all revolutionized our understanding of the world. And they did so through dreams. What makes dreams so good at learning brand new, often uncomprehensable things, is that we aren't restricted by what we know.
Reality is less predictable than we'd like to think, and often solutions to complex problems aren't reasonable. So in our dreams we are able to explore things without any sort of bias put on by what we think or know to be true.
An 'illogical' world is much easier to decode when you're not confined by logic.

There's my little rant. I just want to try and convey the importance of dreams in regards to discovering new things.
Agreements, disagreements, thoughts?
