I've had two of these kinds of dreams so far. The first one was me and some random people I was acquainted with during school. We were running away from some kind of green goo that was infinite in amount and constantly expanding its surface area and consuming buildings and other such things. It ended with me and one other person (who I knew the most out of the others in my dream) having made it to a small town house which was the only place not covered in the green stuff. It slowly began rising up towards us as we tried to get to the highest point possible. Right before it got to us, the dream ended and I awoke. It was around the time I usually wake up, but that's when most of my dreams end. I can't seem to dream in the middle of my sleep rather than the end of it. It seems almost like a disaster film. The only possible connection I can make is to the (bad) movie Volcano. However, this goo didn't even have a source, it just appeared from nowhere.

The 2nd dream is extremely similar, except the setting is a familiar neighborhood I lived in, and instead of this green goo, it's the ground gradually collapsing in to a black abyss. Less people, and I couldn't really see their faces, but it lasted for only about 15 seconds; again, right before the "danger" had gotten to us. I awoke at the usual time I wake up.

I think the similarities are undeniable. Is there a specific name for this kind of dream? I know of things like intruder dreams and chase dreams (I think a chase dream is somewhat similar to this, but I never had the feeling of not being able to outrun it, and there were other people with me trying to escape, not just me and the "thing" chasing me).
