Hello everyone. I am new to the forum and amazed at all the detailed information on the site. I would like some input on dreams that has puzzeled me for years. Here is my story. About 5 years ago i went through a frightful experience that caused some anxiety. Everything in fine now but the effects still linger on today. For the past few years. I can only recall a few nights that i did not recall vivid dreams. That is only when i take pain medication for headaches. Its a solution that will create addicition. No Thanks. My dreams are so vivid and real its like talking to you in my living room. The strangest thing about this whole experience. I have total control over every word i say. I do not have control over the topic or location. Its like i am caught in between being awake and sleep. I have tried everything from sleep clinics to therapy to get deep quality sleep through the night. This is my theory on what is happening. From what i have read. The only time we remember dreams is when we wake during rem sleep. The anxiety caused the brain to become more senitized. The increased activity of the brain and body during rem sleep is enought to wake up the senitive brain every time. Thus the result is the recall of the dream. This still does not explain my complete control over all speech. Some of these dreams contain chasing and fear that take alot of energy. I wake up drained. I am looking into lucid dreaming to take the fear factor away. Just wonder if anyone may have information on how to stop this from happening on a nightly basis. Thanks in advance for your input.
