HI, SP, twitching: What do you get the most?

As you're falling asleep, what tends to happen to you the more: hypnagogic hallucinations, sleep paralysis, twitching, drooling/swallowing issues (oh so annoying), or something else? If nothing ever happens to you, why do you think that is?

I was thinking about my own and got curious about everyone else! As for me, I don't get the kind of HI where there's lights and such. I tend to get a lot of 'scenes' instead, to the point where I question if I just drowsed off and was actually remembering real dreams.

I kind of think of these things as a strength, something to be used (to lucid dream) once you figure out how you can use them to work for you.

My HI always starts the same way. The blackness starts to fill up with white colors that swirl and float around in the dark abyss. Then I get the scenes that you were talking about. It's not like a full blown lucid dream scene, it's more of figures that appear during the white swirls. I had scenes like a little girl going down a slide, a dog chasing it's tail, and a plane landing. They're really fun to watch and often times I can control what is happening. They get more intense with time and SP comes next. Unfortunately, my past SP experiences were horrible, so I snap out of it before it sets in.

      Hi Keitorin,

As I'm falling off to sleep, I get many hypnagogic dreams or visions. I don't like the word hallucinations, as these are actual connections to others, psychic messages, often from inner guides with help for my life, real messages. Sometimes I get swirling white light before the visions come, and sometimes I hear messages as well as see them. Sometimes, too, I see a light pattern that I also see while doing self-Reiki, and realize someone, presumably a guide, is sending Reiki to me! Because I feel it. I've been doing Reiki in bed every night this past week before I go to sleep, and boy, am I sleeping well!

I rarely get sleep paralysis, in fact only remember two occasions. One I woke up with my face stuck in the pillow and body frozen, and was glad I'd been re-reading Jeremy Taylor the night before as I was able to release it by twitching my eyebrow. It was really scary to wake up paralyzed and unable to breathe because I couldn't move. He said that fine motor movement worked, and it does! The other time, I thought there was a cat trying to get in my window through a screen and yowling and hissing, and I couldn't move to close the window. Too strange! Those are the only sleep paralysis incidents I remember, and neither was during falling asleep.

Twitching, sometimes, but seems related to too much sugar consumption. I get that restless legs thing when I sometimes binge on sugar.

The drooling and swallowing issues seem to be alleviated by a child's dose of Benadryl at bedtime during allergy season, and not keeping the house overheated in the winter, and using air conditioning when it's too hot and humid in the summer. In other words, it can be remedied.

I'f I'm just falling asleep normally, I get some HI, usually starts with swirling dull blue/green/purple colors, sometimes I'll start seeing faces/objects. Last night I just started seeing eyes, which was kinda creepy
