I keep a dream journal myself, and when I wake up remembering a dream I rarely hesitate to write it down, though getting out of bed multiple times every night can be a pain in the ***. Instead of writing it down, it could also help if you just take your time to think the dream through. Play the dream in your mind and try to remember as many details as possible.
