Has anyone ever encounted themselves in a dream, maybe at a different age?
Reason i ask is that i was confronted by my 25 years younger self the other night in dream! My 21 year old former self was just how i was then, a cocky tomboy, skinny with short black hair. My former self confronted me as i am now, 46 with very thick long Black hair and a few pounds heavier than then!
My younger self killed me!
Hahahaha. Thats rather amusing, I have looked into a mirror once, and I was about 5 years younger the other side... waving.
I've encountered myself recently, twice...in one month, wonder what that means. I was the same age, but looked a little different, last night in my dream my friend was saying that I kinda look like her (which was a girl that in my dream really did look like me) but I said omg, no if i looked like that i'd shoot myself (that's off the wall for me to say)- but anyway, just wanted to share
That's interesting. We were both dressed the same but 25 years apart and had a sword fight in which my younger self proved more adept!
Thats so amusing, hehe. I often have group discussions with my past selves and sometimes my future selves. I like to tell them what is going to happen to them and see how they feel about it. I do this all the time, its my fav thing to do in a dream. No one has ever killed me before tho ;)
That is amusing, to have discussions with previous/future selfs. Mine was more of a confrontation leadfing to the sword fight with my much younger self running me through.
I was very much me as i am now in the dream, lying on my back in a pool of blood dying.
But i wonder what my younger self was thinking or if she recognised this older version of herself, lying beneath her with this waist length hair spread out all around her as my young self always had such short cropped hair. Odd!
I have not encountered myself in a dream many times.
One time when I did I felt a sense of impending doom. It was as if the meeting was not supposed to happen and since it did the physical and mental constructs of my mind could not handle the event and overloaded. The dream went pitch black, and sort of glitched to another scenario.
Another time I had a short conversation that I could not remember, but woke up quickly after having it.
Must be something about meetinmg oneself and inpending doom then! As my younger self killed me,,, lesson there maybe,, but not sure what,,,
It would appear so. However these are independent cases, solely those of random individuals. I have read other reports of having successful, meaningful, enjoyable, etc. experiences after meeting ones own persona in a dream.
Maybe being stronger and more "Attitude" when younger, sub conscrious trying to tell me something. My hard young self proving far too tough for the girly i am now, ha ha!
Hahah I'd that would be weird being murdered by my younger self. I met myself at the same age I was at the time but it didn't occur I was talking to myself at the time. He was just like another one of my good friends but I felt like I knew him better. Quite the opposite to your experience lol.
I had a dream several years ago, when I was in my late teens, that I was in two places at the same time. I was walking in a field, and about 20 or 30 feet ahead of me was me!
At the EXACT same time, I was walking in a field, and I looked behind me and I saw myself at 20 or 30 feet away! I felt myself in BOTH places at the SAME time! It was something I cannot describe, and it only lasted for a few seconds, and then one of me faded away, while ther other remained. Too weird!
A few things... In most of my 3rd person dreams, I'm an older version of someone (I think myself...) I've met myself a few times in dreams...
One disturbing one was when I was (Also, now that I read Paradox's)in a field. I was walking and then another me came out of nowhere. (Slightly older, but only by a year or two... With a few extra scars to show for it.) We then faught. The me I was controlling lost. I was just too inexperienced to win... So I'm guessing it was some sort of idealized version of my future self...
Oh I recall once finding a young version of myself, then asking him things about my past in DW, but before getting the important answer my mom woke me... after I told her not to wake me <.<
You people don't really get along with your past selves, apparently...
Today i dreamt i was walking in the jungle. I realized i was dreaming, so i said to the rest "Seems im dreaming" they asked to clear som of the trees to make it easyer, so i did. Then there was this elephant and this boy pulled my shirt, i looked and it was me at age 6-7. He asked if i wanted to change the elephant into a giant leopard so he gave me his leopard teddy bear. I trew the teddy at the elephant and the elephant became a giant leopard and the teddy bear became the elephant.
