      Scientific explanations?

I'm writing a monography on lucid draeming and although I've experienced the phenomenons related to the moment just before falling asleep (like audio/visual hallucinations, vibrations, feeling of heavyness, etc) I can't find academic articles that explain them. Anyone knows any websites that could help me?

If you read through this, he has some nice sources at the bottom that can help point you in the right direction:

You could try a google scholar or other research-lit related search for things like Hypnagogic states, Hypnagogic hallucinations, hypnagogic images, etc. If you're at a college, it's likely that your school with grant you access to some sort of database.

As far as I know, there are several "scientific hypotheses", but nothing has been proven. That means your own opinion is as good as anything you'll find.

      Try:

      http://www.gabrielagbasi.com/othertopics.html

      Go to topic "sleep programming"

Also an explanation of dreams is given in the form of a story: "Search for The Prophetess"
