      Dream Relationships?

Well, at the moment I'm dating this girl. I really like her but I mean I have the odd second thought about our relationship. Well this question is kind of two in one. Last night, I had this dream that me and all my friends were all on a snowboarding trip somewhere. I was in the lobby of the ski resort when this girl from school shows up. I ran over to her and hugged her and kissed her. I then realized I was cheating on my girlfriend and then I woke up.

My first question is, does it mean anything when I have a relationship with a girl in my dream? Because all day, I could not get her off my mind and it feels like I'm in love with that girl. It's not the first time thats happened.

My second question is, does certain environments in your dreams make the dream "effect" you more. Because everytime I have a dream of snowboarding with my friends, it feels very real and I can remember it much better than other dreams.

In most of my dreams my husband is there.
And experience it as a place to visit and play with reality.

I had many dreams like that before. I got same emotions like you did. I'll be very happy if someone can answer that one Maybe thats because those dreams directly affect the emotion center of our brains, I don't know. But I do know that when you wake up, you feel something strong. That is weird because I'm not a cheater type. I wasn't thinking somebody when those dreams happened.

I often have sexual dreams that involve someone other than my wife. Many of them are lucid, some are even when I'm thinking clearly.

I don't personally consider them cheating because they are dreams. Just as I don't consider fantasies cheating. My wife agrees with me on this. We both can dream about whoever. We can both fantasize about whoever and it isn't cheating. So when it happens I don't feel guilty. Usually I just wonder why I dreamed about whoever it was. Often my sex dreams are about people I would never sleep with in waking life.

I just chalk it all up to the random nature of dreams. Plus I've read in several places that during REM sleep blood flow to the genitals increases in both males and females. Thus it makes sense that dreams are often sexual in nature.

I'd only feel concered if the dream made me want to go out and persue a sexual or romantic relationship with someone else.

I tended to get that the other way around: dreaming about catching my significant other getting sexual with some random tool.

Anyway, I wouldn't worry about it, as I don't believe that our dreams always equal our fantasies/desires. I mean, come on - does the fact that I once dreamt of killing a man - and enjoying it - mean that I have a heightened potential for being a serial-killer? I submit that it does not. Your dreams have no more influence over whether you'll cheat than mine do over whether I'll murder someone.

Usually the feelings that I have towards people in dreams never carry over to real life. Exept once, when I was really angry at my mom in a dream for breaking a science project that I made and I woke up and started yelling at her.

Me: MOM! WHY'D YOU SIT ON MY SCIENCE PROJECT?

Mom: What science project? Do you even have a science project? *stands up and looks for science project under her chair*

      Me: Oh... nevermind...

As for you saying that you feel like you're in love with this girl, my best guess is (aside from you actually being in love with the girl) that it could be like a residual emotion. Like my anger at my mom, exept their isn't any logical explanation for you to think you're not in love with this person in real life (unless there is and you just didn't say), like my non-exhistant science project tipping me off that I shouldn't be angry at my mom in real life.

And the snowboarding thing. I guess that a setting, or a plot, or just the occurance of something in a dream could make it stand out in your mind, if that setting, plot, etc. was significant enough to you. That's happened to me before.

So, in a nutshell, I doubt that you've fallen in love with someone just because you had a dream about them.

Do you even know them that well?

If you don't then how do you know their personality in your dream was accurate?

If you do know them in real life, I think you should ask yourself if you ever had feelings for them before the dream. If you didn't have any romantic attatchment to them before you thought you loved them then I bet it was just the dream that made you think that.

      Hopefully, I helped.

I find that my dream relationships are necessary in my life, but people do not understand.

Why blame yourself? Unless you're lucid it's not like you have a choice. Blame the DCs if you like.

I have dreams about railways being round Ireland in the places they used to be and travelling by trains in those parts and it feels so real.
