Total LDs: 3
I just started using the voice recorder app on my phone (a device might be better, but the phone timestamps the entries which is extremely convenient not to have to worry about that, just click record and start talking and the phone tells me what time it was made at). It made a huge difference. I recorded 17 different dreams/fragments last night (most with at least 1 short paragraph of details, not just keywords) I still transcribe to written form in the morning. You can talk much faster than you can write. About the only downside is that you can't review the dreams in written form during the night for WBTB and MILD, but you could always take the WBTB time and transcribe for dreams you really want to visualize if you're having troubler remembering it. Voice recorder FTW! |

Definitely easier than writing it down. Takes less time, and doesn't wake you up as much as mumbling a few words! |

Unless there's somebody who could wake up because of your voice, I think it's better than writing as the first step to transcribe your dreams. |

I don't do it mainly because I hate the sound of my own voice, but I think it's a great idea and I'm trying to push myself into giving it a shot. I tend to do my notes during the night by typing on my phone and that has pretty obvious drawbacks. Maybe I'll at least try speech-to-text if I can manage to speak clearly enough while half asleep, lol. |
