I've had a couple of dreams foretelling an "apocalypse". One I posted in an old thread, and another, is an older dream, and recently after reading about Egyptian mythology and examining the dream, I've come to believe that it alluded to apocalypse. I also vaguely remember there being a third one, that I didn't take seriously at the time I had it, so now I've forgotten and I'm kicking myself for not writing it down. I just remember it was prophetic, referred to apocalypse, and was really trying to get my attention - but failed to do so until the second dream hit me, the one I wrote down.
So, chronologically, the first dream I had, and it's important to note I was an atheist at the time (because it has spiritual allusions). I met a girl with long black hair and was mesmerized by her. She split into two aspects of herself and one was slightly 'darker'. Both of them ran away and I followed them to a dock by a river. Time itself stopped when I reached them, and a voice started talking to me from nowhere. I clearly remember one of the things it said was "I have been with you since the beginning, and shall be with you until .. (the end)" this ending felt to me a kind of total ending - an end of time, but with a very specific meaning. Whatever word she used was full of meaning beyond my comprehension, and "the end of time" seems like a very sloppy translation of it.
I wanted to understand the dream, and I didn't understand it for a long time. The first realization I had, when I began reading about mythology and paganism, was that the girl in my dream was Isis. Once I saw her and read of her, I had this strong pull to her and feeling that it had been her. My patroness, I believe, revealed herself to me in my dream telling me "I have been with you since the beginning". What I didn't know was, why did she have two aspects, and I knew of a myth of importance where she resurrects her dead husband on the riverbank - explaining the river she went to.
Now, I've come to find that the myth includes her twin sister. Ah! And when time stopped at the river bank? The two sisters cry out together for Osiris to return to the living. This myth is of renewal, death and rebirth. The time stopping, her alluding to the end, I think the allusion to the rebirth of Osiris myth was symbolic of an age ending and a new one begun here.
Which leads to the others I have had. They were posted in an old thread here: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...776#post649776
The message of apocalypse was very clear in my other dream. What's even scarier, is that I had 2 dreams with messages, and they "came true".
I was having odd nightly headaches that were waking me up. They felt unlike anything else, truly odd and would make me moan when I woke up because they were so intense. They weren't painful, as such, just intense. Sometimes I'd be dizzy, too, and sometimes I'd shudder when I woke. The doctors I told this to weren't sure. One told me when I had the vertigo that my inner ear was readjusting.
I had a dream where someone told me about there being too much electricity in my head. Well, I thought.. ok maybe but I didn't know what that really meant. A month later I had a dream where I was being put on anti-seizure medication and I was holding paperwork and a check from someone who had sent me money to help pay for the expensive drugs. Shortly after waking from this, I was thinking about the dream. Then I had my 'headache' again. It didn't go away like normal, instead I started shaking and having.. a seizure. Scary! And I didn't know until reading about it - that seizures are caused by a surge of electrical activity in the brain. My dreams were absolutely right, and when the first dream wasn't understood, I had another that put it in more specific terms.
