Post your Apocalyptic or cataclismic dreams here!

Hey, so I had a wierd non-lucid dream last night that foretold of a great catastrophy. And I thought we could start a thread where everyone could post their own apocalyptic or cataclismic dreams so we can see if the same trends repeat themselves. ooooh. (I'm sure such a thread exists already but lets make a fresh one!!) So here is my dream, (it had 2 parts, sorry if you find it long):

      Part 1:
My dream started, I was with a native south american tribe in a very large grass field. Everyone there was making big masks of specific colours. It was a large group of people, I believed they were mayans or something. Then I left, I guess I was on a plain or something because the next thing I saw is the field from the sky. I was very high and I could see that all the people of the tribe were on the ground in a formation, depicting a god or something dancing. Their masks were making the colour pattern, and their choreagraphy made the figure dance.

      Part 2:
I was back in Ottawa, Canada, where I currently live. It was in the last week of july and the pope came to Ottawa for a visit... or something. He was gonna be in town for 7 days and it was the first day of his trip and he had a parade, I could see him from my window. He was supposed to do a mass on the seventh day of his trip for the intire population, people were coming from all over the country to see his mass. The thing is that we (my three friends and I) were told he was a fake, and that he was actually a bomb that could destroy the entire area and the millions of people that came to his mass. My three friends didn't believe that he was a fake, but I had doubts. Basically, I had the choice to leave on the 6th day, and go back to northern canada (where I grew up) where I would be safe. I didn't know what to choose, follow my friends, that were going to stay, or follow my instincts, and leave.

Then I woke up. The 2 parts don't really go together but with the whole 2012 mayan calandar thing I thought it fit with the rest.
So this probably doesn't mean much, mere products of my fruitfull imagination, but interesting nonetheless. ;p
And If you can interpret this, that would be cool. thanks for reading!

I live in Louisiana. About a month before Hurricane Katrina hit N.O., I dreamt that I was in a huge convention center. From wall to wall there were people camped out in sleeping bags. I walked up to the upper levels where people also lined the halls in sleeping bags. Everyone's mood was somber, and there was lots of stifled tears, other than that the atmosphere was dark, eerie and quiet. I noticed that there were blankets covering all the entrances and exits. I was on the upper level and approached an exit. I moved the blanket away and was hit with a glare of light. As I walked out onto the balcony the site around me was disturbing. The entire earth, as far as my eye could see, was completely covered by water. We were stranded.

Of course we all know that Hurricane Katrina caused a flood and there were people who took cover in the Super Dome. Thankfully, however, none of it was as severe as in my dream. Was my dream about a possible outcome of Hurricane Katrina that did not occur? Who knows? Did it freak me out? Yes. And it freaked out everyone who I had told when the dream occurred, before Hurricane Katrina even developed. It was all too eerie.

The Mayan dream was making me think of 2012 as well, although I believe it to be the end of an age, not the end of the world.

Anyway, I had a rather eerie apocalyptic dream when I was four.

I dreamed that I awoke from bed during an earthquake, and a blinding light was shining from out of the window. Looking out, I saw a vast, barren plane, as it was being split down the middle by an enormous fissure. The sun was enormous on the horizon and emanated vibrant green, yellow, magenta, and white lines, sort of like lightning but also like an aurora borealis. I then heard a booming voice, like the voice of God, say only one word - "Soon." I awoke after that.

I don't know what I watched that night to inspire my imagination, but I don't think it was Bambi.
      No.

There was one dream I had a while back about wandering down the streets of some unnamed big city with my mom and sister. The tall buildings around us were dull and gray in texture, like they were made of concrete. The sky was this sickly yellow color and the puffy patches of clouds were red. Every once in a while, these weird little worms would jump (literally - like about 3 feet into the air) out of the soil. I went into a grocery store, where people were trying to salvage foodstuffs and other useful supplies. Then this black dude was about to beat up this skinny white guy - something about the white guy having dated the black guy's late wife, who I guess had died by whatever had ended the world. I broke up the impending clobbering and told them to get along - that in a world like this, you had to get along. Afterward I went back outside with my family and continued to wander the streets of the dead city.

"Take atheism, for example. Not a religion? Their pseudo-dogmatic will to convert others to their system of beliefs is eerily reminiscent of the very behavior they criticize in the religious."

      A couple

I've had a couple of dreams foretelling an "apocalypse". One I posted in an old thread, and another, is an older dream, and recently after reading about Egyptian mythology and examining the dream, I've come to believe that it alluded to apocalypse. I also vaguely remember there being a third one, that I didn't take seriously at the time I had it, so now I've forgotten and I'm kicking myself for not writing it down. I just remember it was prophetic, referred to apocalypse, and was really trying to get my attention - but failed to do so until the second dream hit me, the one I wrote down.

So, chronologically, the first dream I had, and it's important to note I was an atheist at the time (because it has spiritual allusions). I met a girl with long black hair and was mesmerized by her. She split into two aspects of herself and one was slightly 'darker'. Both of them ran away and I followed them to a dock by a river. Time itself stopped when I reached them, and a voice started talking to me from nowhere. I clearly remember one of the things it said was "I have been with you since the beginning, and shall be with you until .. (the end)" this ending felt to me a kind of total ending - an end of time, but with a very specific meaning. Whatever word she used was full of meaning beyond my comprehension, and "the end of time" seems like a very sloppy translation of it.

I wanted to understand the dream, and I didn't understand it for a long time. The first realization I had, when I began reading about mythology and paganism, was that the girl in my dream was Isis. Once I saw her and read of her, I had this strong pull to her and feeling that it had been her. My patroness, I believe, revealed herself to me in my dream telling me "I have been with you since the beginning". What I didn't know was, why did she have two aspects, and I knew of a myth of importance where she resurrects her dead husband on the riverbank - explaining the river she went to.

Now, I've come to find that the myth includes her twin sister. Ah! And when time stopped at the river bank? The two sisters cry out together for Osiris to return to the living. This myth is of renewal, death and rebirth. The time stopping, her alluding to the end, I think the allusion to the rebirth of Osiris myth was symbolic of an age ending and a new one begun here.

Which leads to the others I have had. They were posted in an old thread here: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...776#post649776

The message of apocalypse was very clear in my other dream. What's even scarier, is that I had 2 dreams with messages, and they "came true".

I was having odd nightly headaches that were waking me up. They felt unlike anything else, truly odd and would make me moan when I woke up because they were so intense. They weren't painful, as such, just intense. Sometimes I'd be dizzy, too, and sometimes I'd shudder when I woke. The doctors I told this to weren't sure. One told me when I had the vertigo that my inner ear was readjusting.

I had a dream where someone told me about there being too much electricity in my head. Well, I thought.. ok maybe but I didn't know what that really meant. A month later I had a dream where I was being put on anti-seizure medication and I was holding paperwork and a check from someone who had sent me money to help pay for the expensive drugs. Shortly after waking from this, I was thinking about the dream. Then I had my 'headache' again. It didn't go away like normal, instead I started shaking and having.. a seizure. Scary! And I didn't know until reading about it - that seizures are caused by a surge of electrical activity in the brain. My dreams were absolutely right, and when the first dream wasn't understood, I had another that put it in more specific terms.

There was some alien race taking over the world, but the aliens looked like humans. I became good friends with one of the aliens too.

I have alot, all of which are listed under my "Apocalypse-like dreams" in my dream journal:

Some themes that I found whilst reading it:

-Deserted city because of some weird plague, I survived.

-An enormous snake murdering my friends, I fled.

-An evil "modern" wizard ruling over a mystical country, I joined a group of rebels, we got discovered, and I had to flee once more.

-I found some sort of weird fungus/mucus in a rocky area, the mucus/fungus spread very fast, and soon the whole area was covered by it, I woke up while in the midst of the mucus. (Dreamed about this one last night.)

-I had joined a group of rebels to guard a stronghold/keep/castle. They died, so I had to defend it from a legion of thousands single handedly..I survived, somewhat. I fled through the woods as they overwhelmed the castle. I soon found my twin brother walking amonst the trees.
Once he saw me he ran after me and tried to grab me..betrayer!

Most of my dreams involve me surviving plagues, diseases, earthquakes and more, I love them. The other dreams surround the theme : "Justice" or "Awkward".

Do you think I might be able to form this into some sort of dream sign or so?
(I'm talking about all recurring themes)
