Have a look around. This is one of the most common problems, people ask about it all the time. Right off the bat I'd say, stay involved with the dream, don't just stand there in disbeleif. Know that it is a dream, and hang onto that knowledge, repeat it to yourself if you have to, but involve yourself, use your senses. Go over and pet the hippo and feel it's...purple fur...Feeling and using senses is one of the most effective way to lengthen LD's. I've made some of mine that would have only lasted 6 or 7 seconds last around 3 or 4 minutes just by contiually grounding myself in the dream environment...give it a try. Also...so what if you wake? Don't move as you feel yourself wake, and maintain the idea that it's all a dream in the forefront of your mind, and you should be able to re-enter. It's that easy. Experiment, play around, and try some of that, I'm sure you'll have some lengthy, good lucid dreams soon
