      WTF Happened?

The other day it was morning and I was half asleep, and I closed my eyes because I didnt want to properly wake up. Then I started to hear these swishes from one side of my head to the other, which wasnt a problem because I've had them before, but they started getting louder and louder, and eventually, I could see just blue, and everytime I hear the swishes I could see firework-like things moving from one side of my vision to the other, following the sound. Eventually the swishes sped up so much that it was just a constant sound, and I could see white with pink noise, and as the sound got louder, the white got brighter, and brighter, and brighter, 'til it basically took over me. Then I had a few seconds of a really good feeling, cant really explain it, but it was good. Then I slowly opened my eyes thinking I was dreaming, and AFAIK, there was a very fresh wind in my face (I wasnt fully aware of things at the time), and I could feel my hair moving, but it felt longer than usual. I tried to move my hand to pinch my nose so I could do an RC, but it seemed I was in sleep paralysis still. After a while, I could move, and I wasnt dreaming, my hair was still short, and all the windows were shut and there was no wind. What happened here then?

P.S. I had a few beers the previous night.

Hypnagogia. Happens on the border between the waking state and sleep.
It consists of audio hallucinations, visual hallucinations, sensations and so on.

I remember times when I saw and felt my cat in my bed while it actually wasn't (and couldn't have been), as well as bugs, etc. Plenty of reports about shadowy sillhouettes too.

So, aye, hypnagogia is a "fun" state in many aspects.

Ooh, nice. Is there any way to actually induce hypnagogia? It was awesome, I have to say.

It happens to you every time you fall asleep. The Hypnagogic Imagery method of inducing lucid dreams (to induce a WILD) uses hypnagogia, on which you focus more or less, until you're in a dream. But that's subtle hypnagogia, I suppose.

The kind of hypnagogic hallucinations reported and the likes of which you described seem more like a half-dream, a day dream or some such. Not sure how one would go about inducing them.

This experience for me is about nothing more than creepy shadows and scary sounds, sooooo, NO its not fun for everyone
Before you tell yourself Its just a different scene
Remember its just different from what you've seen

well, now i know what those shadow things are, ty. Have you ever heard of someone having recuring hynogogia? I can almost see the same thing every time this happens. The first time it scared me, then the next time i went along with it, but eventually went to sleep. I don't really pay attention to them anymore. If I stay with it longer do you think it will lead to a lucid dream?

LOL, I havent gotten past that part myself, I HOPE if you flow with it it will turn in to a lucid dream, I'll let you know when I get over the scary shadows but it is definitely recurring hypnagogic, or whatever you called it just like a dream, you might have the same dream a few times, with a thing different here and there
