      Odd Experience

Hi everyone. This is a strange experience I used to have almost every morning upon waking up. I'd like to know if anyone has any info about what it is.
Every so often, my alarm clock will sound while I am in the middle of a dream. Howver, it does not always fully wake me up right away. On occasion, the noise will become a part of the dream I am in. It's rather hard to explain; when the alarm sounds, it wakes me up just enough to hear it but not to the point where I realize what it is. Often, a DC will complain abou the noise and begin asking it to be stopped. One of the strangest occurances happened while I owned a radio alarm clock; it turned on during a morning talk show, and the voices took on faces in my dream.
This usually only lasts for a few seconds, however, I've had experiences of this time as long as twenty minutes. If anyone knows more about this, please post a comment. I would really like to know more about it.

I've had the same experience before. I guess you are just partially awake and the real world blends with your dreams for awhile. Like when someone was asking me to wake up once, he appeared in my dream and asked me to wake up in my dream.

That happens to me all the time. In one dream, when my alarm went off (I use one of those watches with the little beeping alarm, because my actual alarm clock jolts me awake) I said something like, "Our mission is complete! (*name was here but I forgot it*) is calling us out of battle." And I woke up and realized it was my alarm, not a distant trumpant.

Another time I was spending the night at my grandparents house, and in a dream that night I was talking to my brother. After every few words, he would make a sound like a cow. A few seconds later I woke up and could still hear the noise. I was thinking "what in the world is that?" I was still sort of drowsy, but soon I became alert enough to realize that it was my grandma snoring!

Anyway, it's normal. Your brain still percieves things externaly even when you are asleep, so it would be very easy for a sound like that to get in your dream.
