Iv'e been doing some research on dreaming lately for a project, and have discovered this: Every night, you enter sleep paralysis. This keeps you from acting out your dreams. So, the act of your body paralysing itself is a safety measure. Waking up while you are still paralyzed doesn't happen a lot, and I don't see why it should be harmful. If you are deeply concerned about it, see a doctor. If not, I'd just let it slide.
