So after a few other lucid experiences this week via WBTB, last night I managed my first ever DILD. And it was the most vivid, lucid dream I've ever had!
I've been reality checking a lot this week, checking the back of my hands all the time. After some wild non-lucid dreaming earlier in the night (as well as a night terror from which I awoke screaming loudly), I suddenly found myself aware and looked at my hands only to see them really distorted. I was then able to consciously tell myself to remain calm and then stepped out into my dream world with full awareness. Just.....wow. So this is what its all about!
I won't explain the details of the dream. I was having some problems flying, materialising etc. Still working on this. I was able to consciously materialise the first random object that came to mind (carrots, I have no idea why although apparently they are good for inducing dreams?). And more failed sex lol. I was able to interact with some dream characters although they mostly remained passive towards me. Eventually, things got a bit too intense and carried away and I awoke with a jolt.
Like the other lucid/semi-lucid dreams I've had recently, upon awakening I was wide awake and buzzing and my mood has been on a high all day. This interests me because earlier on the night, I had awoken from a night terror and was filled with a real sense of dread about life in general and felt very down. My short-term moods seem to be drastically altered by dreaming experiences.
That is 3 intense, lucid experiences in the space of a week now. Last night was easily the most vivid I have ever had and I think my first truly, fully lucid experience. Wow!
I am having some issues with fear in the night. Edgy and paranoid about WBTB induction which I thought I had overcome.
EDIT: Sorry, wrong board!
