The Dream of the Lucid Dreamer Organization
This dream has stuck with me for months. I had no idea how to think about it, and I'm hoping that others here might shed light on this sort of situation. This dream was unlike anything I have ever experienced, and I usually have extraordinarily creative and bizzare dreams, though lucid dreaming is almost impossible for me to achieve at present.
So I'll try to keep the details minimal here and just say the concept of what happened. There is a recurring location that I sometimes dream about, with the same people who live inside of it. It's a large house with a few rooms that remain the same, and a few that always change. There was a middle aged fellow with slightly balding brown hair, and a large cast of weird people who seem like they could almost be aliens, but the first man obviously ran the place. When I'm in this dream, the man always knows I'm dreaming. He likes to talk to me about the dream, and on this particular night, he had a mission for me. He told me he wanted me to travel through several dimensions hunting down people who had 'the perception' as he put it, but which I understood to mean dreamers with extraordinary power. For the entire night in my dream I went to wild places, encountering some of the most interesting looking people I've ever seen. I went to mansions with strange hostile inhabitants, an enormous empty field of flowers where an owl transformed into the ancient dreamer I was seeking, all the while hunting down these people on my mission as I went from place to place. At times the dream changed, but it always reverted back to this goal, and any distractions I had were quickly overcome. I returned once in a while to the main house where there were always more people, sometimes some of the people I'd discovered. I never knew if I'd succeeded entirely, because I woke up to my alarm.
It's like I was the recruiter for the League of Extraordinary Dreamers or something... I've never had a dream with so much purpose, or so many interesting places and people all in one night. Has anyone else had this kind of experience, or can shed light on what it might mean?
