      Teeth

A couple nights ago I had a dream where I pulled out a good majority of my teeth. Multiple times for some of them. I was slightly frantic and tried telling my mom in my dream, but she didn't seem to care. They didn't come loose in my dream or anything, nor did a dentist pull them. I did.

In some dreams that tends to happen. Many people have dreams of their teeth falling out. Just like running slow or falling of the bed.

Man no kidding.. I've had tons of teeth dreams like this over the years. Usually the dream (non lucid ofc) involves me eating something, and one or many of my teeth crack and fall out. Can't recall pulling them out myself though.

I know the interpretation of this dream sign wasn't asked by the op, but I always found Sigmund Freud's interpretation of this symbol interesting: "The teeth falling out and extraction of them are symbols of castration as a punishment for masturbating (castration's complex)," in fact, "Freud also had a fascination with symbols of castration, which he believed were represented in a dream by baldness, teeth falling out and the cutting of hair."

      Veird, ja?

This one seems to be a frequent one... I remember hearing it all the time when I was co-oping with a women's health psychiatrist in undergrad. One interpretation I read was that it can "point to an underlying belief or fear that we have no control over our lives or a fear of impending loss". This seemed to be relevant at the time since a lot of the patients we were seeing were pregnant mothers who were having severe anxiety over the fact that their entire lives were about to change and they were afraid of losing a lot of their control and freedom in the next few months.

Don't know if this sense of "no control" or "impending loss" seems relevant to you, but maybe since your mom was in your dream it could mean an underlying fear about losing the stability of family, fear of "forging out on your own" or a fear about the mortality of yourself and your loved ones??

      Just a thought

I've had this a few times, all after trying out the SSILD technique. In one of them, I pulled a ball of yarn out of my gums along with the tooth. Well, the yarn was technically speaking nerves, but that's a detail right?

I once had a dream where a ton of teeth just fell out, as if they were barely even in there.

That's ironic considering your username, "a medium-sized toothed whale and the animal with the largest canines."

I seem to have these dreams a lot when I haven't visited the dentist in a while and feel uncertain about possible inflammations and the like.
I wonder if there could be a connection. xD

That's like saying it's ironic to not know people have butt sex even though I have a butt-hole, doesn't make sense. A Narwhal and a tooth dream, while both relative by teeth go down two different paths of knowledge.

I think there could be, because when I worry about my retainers too much because they're cracking, I end up having a bad teeth dream that night.
But some people probably have them with a different meaning behind it

Oh shit, so that's why I have no hair, I work it too much!

Just kidding of course. I actually barely do it and I carry great pride in it. Fuck yes.

Still, I've never had this kind of a dream where my teeth fall out and well hair, I already have none LOL. Still, for some reason Freud's interpretation does interest me. Perhaps that's why I don't have them? Then again, it could be complete bullshit. But I read somewhere that Freud as well as Newton and Einstein abstained for masturbation so they, according to themselves, could think clearer. Interesting right? I think there are a lot of benefits to not wanking it even though society keeps telling us it's okay and healthy. Fuck that, I got my own opinion.
