Hello, I'm new here so sorry if this is the wrong place for me to post this.

Something really strange happens me to occasionally when I wake up from sleeping. I've goggled a bit, and I think it could be sleep paralysis, but it seems to be more than that. Whenever I get like that I try to move, usually it's my arms or my neck. I can't move anything though. My whole body will feel really tense and tight, as if I'm trying to break out or be free of something. I almost always try to scream when this is happening to me, but nothing ever comes out, and it feels as if I'm moving within my body and tilting my head back and trying to scream. Last night when it happened, I felt the paralysis come on, I think. I can't be too sure if I was dreaming and then it came on or if I was awake and then it started. But it seemed to start from a really tense spot in my back, then the next thing I know I couldn't move.

Other times when this has happened, I've felt as if I'm being lifted up against my will and I tend to shake/jerk a lot. I once remember feeling as I was being forced to sit up. My torso felt as if it was being lifted up, and my hands were against my chest all tight but I was shaking violently, and then my legs were moved over my bed and I was sitting on the edge. I couldn't move any part of my body, it was moving itself and I had no control. I then was lying down again. This has only happened a handful of times. It's really scary. I haven't been able to find anything out about this kind of thing, and any kind of response would be brilliant.

This could be a totally normal thing that happens to people, and I'm probably just overreacting massively.

Thanks.
