So I've decided to ask for feedback...

Very commonly... I dream about suicide. I've probably dreamed of every possible way I can imagine killing myself (except hanging because I don't like the idea...). I have been suicidal in real life before. The most common dream I've been having recently is actually not suicide, but cutting. For example, last night I dreamed of (being someone else similar to myself) just slashing at my forearm with a razor, watching it bleed. I could feel realistic pain. I am not a cutter in real life but I have cut twice in the past and sometimes I do feel an urge to cut. I don't understand why... but there's something about the act of cutting and bleeding that I'm strongly attracted to. I hope you guys don't think I'm crazy for this. Who knows... maybe I am crazy. Feedback please?

You aren't crazy. The desire isn't as rare as you might think, especially among young people. You need to work on whatever is bothering you so much in real life that makes you consider suicide and cutting so much, at least subconsciously. Since it appears in your dreams you probably still have the desire on some level, even if you don't consciously think about often. You could seek help from friends, family, counselors,... or even post in the Help! section here if none of that is appealing.

Are you emotionally hurt in real life?

There's nothing crazy about suicidal and cutting dreams. I believe most people are guilty of feeling suicidal at least once in their life. But I would think it is not healthy to dream about it in a long run. I believe dreams are a way to balance up certain unhappiness in real life so dreaming about them isn't exactly a bad thing. At least you can release certain emotions you can't release in real life in your dreams.

Are you having problems in waking life? Or are you doing this often because you like the thought of controlling your dreams in lucids in this matter?
It's totally normal to have some dark-sided dreams once you wake up not really concerned about it.
On the other hand i sometimes do get dark sided dreams, not long ago but a few days ago. Being bad or being different in dreams might mean you are bored of life and want to do something different once in a while...but not really actually suicide in real. Just metaphorically speaking.

@Carrot: Yes, I am. I've been through way too much to even write about it all. I don't know why, but I somewhat enjoy... or "like" dreaming about it. I dreamed about it again last night. In the dream I went into the bathroom and cut my arm all the way down to my forearm. I was whimpering and wincing. It almost felt real. I could feel actual pain- but the blood wasn't -real- enough for me... that's how it always is. I was partially lucid because I tried to make the blood seem more real (I know that sounds crazy) and that's how it always is in these dreams. In the dream, I then held a towel to my arm and went into my room only to lay on my bed shaking and whimpering. It sounds very dark, I know. These dreams often confuse me and make me wonder why I want to dream about something so obviously terrible.
@Dianeva: You think so? Thank you for your reply... Perhaps I will make a post sometime in Help. I've been through a lot of therapy so far but I have a lot of trouble talking about the darker things with someone face-to-face.

If you're asking for feedback about your dreams, I guess you're feeling that cutting yourself in your dreams is not the best way to handle you emotional pain. It's good when it lasts in the dream but when you come back to reality, the pain is there again. If you're willing to tell us your problem, you can post a thread at the Help! section. It doesn't matter how long it is, there will be people who are willing to read it and I know some members will give you very good advice. A few heads trying to solve your problem beats solving it alone, right? :)
