Asking for advice on my situation

      Hi!

I just want to write down my current situation and how I try to find out what influences it in a bad or good way. And maybe you can answer me a question or even two and tell me about your experiences if it's related to my situation.
First, I have to say that I came back to get into LDing and - for a start - more dreams at all a week back.

I never dreamt much. Be it because of getting up early (school, job, etc) or because I never wrote down my dreams or because of weed. I don't know. I just want to find out.

Last week, when I read a lot about LDing again and began to sporadly doing RCs I got dreams every night from 19th to 24th october. That's from friday to wednesday (iirc). I went to bed at almost the same time and did WBTB. I didn't have to get up early in the morning as usual. And began to write down all my dreams again. I don't know if I had weed every day and at what time but I surely had every now and then. I know that it supresses dream recalling and I never tried to figure out if it matters for me.

Starting on wednesday, I stopped going to bed at the same time as the days before and I was partying hard this weekend so there was no time for RCs or WBTB nor much sleep. Only once, when someone abruptly woke me, I had a dream in my mind but couldn't write it down because I had to go to the door.

Now I really want to get more dreams and of course lucid dreaming.

I'm sure that I am not the only person who usually has to get up early in the morning so should I get into the habit of going to bed at around the same time every day? (It seemed to help.) If yes, which time do you recommend?

Does anyone surely knows if weed influences dream recalling in a bad way and has experienced that it's better without?

I'll try to start to get over the day without weed tomorrow plus I will try to get to bed at the same time. Of course I will do RCs and do ADA. But I often enough just forget about it. Seems like I have to write a keyword on my hand or stick little notes over the fridge, bed, pc, toilet, etc. Did anyone try that?

Yes, I know that dream recall fluctuates and one week of actively trying isn't much but I also want to write it down to compare it with the future (haha).

If you read through everything I'm gonna have to thank you and I hope you were able to understand my English. So if you've got any answers or thoughts on something, please feel free to reply.

Yes, it might be a good idea to go to bed at roughly the same time every night. A good and consistent sleep schedule works wonders not only for lucid dreaming, but for your lifestyle in general. As for the time: it depends on your activities and your normal routine. But I'd suggest sleeping at a time where you can get enough hours in before you have to wake up.

Sticky notes are also a great idea to remind you to reality check! I still do that. haha. You can also practice telling yourself to reality check when doing a certain activity you usually do.

As for the weed, well I don't smoke but almost all the people I've come across say that it does have a negative effect on their lucid dreaming, especially dream recall. This might interest you: http://www.dreamviews.com/f44/mariju...eaming-124337/

      Good luck

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

      Thanks for your reply!
I have to get up at 6.30 in the morning and usually go to bed between 10 pm and 12 am... maybe I should stick to 11 pm, just like I did last week (but without having to get up so early )
It also prevents me from going to bed too late which rather sucks. But that really seems to need a lot of self-control.

Okay, so I gonna have to stick notes around. Because telling me doesn't help. I just realized I forgot to RC after waking up. Argh.

As for your link, it really sucks to read that. But as far as I can see they mostly smoked weed before they went to bed.
But what if one is already off it when going to sleep? Shouldn't affect sleep too much, eh?

Let's hope so! You should experiment with the time you smoke, and see how it affects your recall. You might get some interesting results. :3

Okay, haha. I totally forgot about this thread. Finally, I put my addiction to an end two weeks ago, now fully living straight edge. So dream recall shouldn't be a problem in the future, now trying to build it up. Are there any tipps aside of a dream journal and trying to wake up after a dream?
Though I didn't do any RC's anymore and I alwas forget them due to work etc. I should begin to write RC on my hand or something...

If you want, you can take some supplements. Though I'm guessing they don't directly improve your recall, but rather, they enhance the dream quality so you can remember them better. I personally just take apple juice before bed, it gives me really vivid dreams.
