What happens when YOU die?

I'm usually lying on the floor, but it's all black. I can still hear everything that's going on around me, until after about a minute or so, then I wake up.

Sometimes I respawn like a video game character (learns how to reset dreams in the same manner. Other times things will just fade to black. Been a long time since I've died in a dream though.

I never die in my dreams. I'm awesome. I've walked around headless, armless, legless, but never dead. :cooler:

Sometimes I wake up immediately. Other times it's a lot like a false awakening. Everything turns dark. Sometimes I think I'm awake, but I then drift off into new dreams. Occasionally I re-enter the same dream again. In my most recent death dream, I was killed four times in the same dream by zombies. And lucky me, I kept coming right back to die another painful stressful death.

I frequently die in my dreams, but usually don't get to see what happens next. But just a few nights ago I had a dream that I died(don't remember how) and went to what I thought was heaven. But it wasn't a place of happiness and love like people say. It was like a mental hospital where they give you little activities to do to keep you busy while you work on getting better. By then I figured that I was probably in limbo.

Another cool death dream I had took place in a video game-like scene. I was on top of a train and fell off and was run over. The "screen", aka my sight, turned red and it said "game over" and I woke up.

I don't think I have died in my dreams yet, when I'm at the dramatic point of near death, I'll wake up. I can't believe I actually lost to DCs at the end of the dream, I thought I was usually almighty in my dreams and things will all turn out well.

Oh yes now I recalled, I was burned in a fire once, before I even felt the heat, I was looking at me getting burned in a 3rd person perspective. So I guess that's how I died?

Each time I've died has been special and unique in its own way.

Take for example the most recent time, death by beating. Immediately reborn as a vampire (or other blood drinker) and headed after the folk who just killed me. Other times it hurts, but pain to a masochist isn't really painful, ya know?

When I die in a dream, I either wake up instantly, or respawn (just like Auron). When I get respawned, the whole scene restarts and everything replays exactly like it did before. Then it repeats until I'm out of sleeping time and I wake up to my alarm. The upside to it is that the more times it repeats, the better the chance I have at recognizing it's a dream, and I get lucid. :D

I don't think i've actually died in my dreams, i've came really really close but never died.

I only effectivly died once, I was in a car ( which is not surprising cause I have alwys had 'near death" dreams involving cars so I figured eventually Id hit the ground ) this particular dream I hit water..i dont remmember drowning though.. i remember being a transparent version of myself ( i know pretty cliche) that was just outside on the dock of the lake the car crashed in, I saw people trying to take the car out and someone said " we got a body in here" at that moment it was like a time skip and I remember being at a funeral I assume was mine, I kept trying to talk to everyone but no one could see or hear me and i felt very alone, what was worse is no one seemed affected by my death, no one shed a single tear EXCEPT for one neice who was inconsoleable which considering our relationship we are close but not as close as we used to be it was pretty weird. I woke up after I left the cemetary, i have not had a dream where I died since then tho.
