What variables affect dream vividness? I have a wide range of dream vividness ranging from hazy, forgettable dreams to 100% realistic, completely clear dreams, and I'm sure other people are like that too. |

Its not just sight (haziness) but also the level of taste, touch, smell, and sound. The vividness of your dreams can be described by how detailed it felt, the smell and feel of the air/wind. The weight of your clothes. The taste of the food your eating. The sound of your footsteps. It seems most people focus on sight while dreaming. Remember we have FIVE senses! |

I meant by haziness that all my senses are dulled. |
|
In my dreams, I can see and hear vividly, but I never smell or taste anything. I haven't thought about how things feel. |

My dream quality has been really cruddy recently, so that's why I started this thread. |

There are many factors that affect dream vividness. From lifestyle, diet, stress, even brain chemistry. You may even have noticed that when you are stressed, or when you eat certain foods, the dream drastically varies. Sometimes they are extremely vivid, all senses are heightened somewhat. And sometimes they are hazy and dull, and prone to be forgotten once you wake up. |
