Lightbulb Predicting the Future in my dream

About a week ago i had this dream where my old friend that i haven't talked to since march called me on my cell phone. Now in my dream I was just laying in my bed and than my phone rang with the caller id reading her number... i answered it but don't really remember what was said. I had this dream on Sunday night. All week i felt like i was waiting for Friday but i didn't know why. Then on Friday got up really early, there was no reason i just got up early and it was a regular day and no reason for being excited. I was listening to music all day and turned it off at at twelve thirty, right when i turned my music off i noticed my phone ringing on silent i looked and it said her number on the caller id. She asked me to come to a birthday party for another friend if it matters

I frequently have dreams that appear to be precognitive, but I'm certain that it's just coincidence. Thus far dreams have not been proven to have 'future-telling' properties (frankly I don't think they ever will be).

i've had several dreams involving me and a person that exist inn real life, and we would be having a certain conversation, and a few days or weeks later when we meet, we would have the same exact conversation as the one we had in my dream, not only i reply with the same lines, but the other person also replied with the same exact words that were used in the dream, so i guess in a way my dreams did predict the future, but maybe it is just our mind predicting what the other person would say to what we say, so it's more like our mind predicting the other person's personality and behaviour and was shown to me during my dream, these have happened quite a bit to me, and i would realise that the conversation i was having was the conversation in my dream in the middle or at the end of the conversation, so i guess it does predict the future in a way.

I have also experienced apparently precognitive dreams. And although I do not believe it to be a vision of the future, more a likely calculation as the brain is trained to do during sleep, I disagree with ThePieMan. I'm thinking more along the lines of space-time, especially Einstein-Rosen bridges. However, as I have already said, I believe these occurrences can be explained in there realms of the normal, but not by me.

I've had this too, but I think it might actually be a form of deja Vu. I'll get the feeling I've done something before, and then remember I had it in a dream. The thing is, I had never recalled having that dream prior to the feeling of deja vu. So it does feel as if I foresaw the future in a dream, but it's more likely that my memory is being altered somehow. Hate to de-romantacize the experience for you, but I personally don't believe in psychic stuff. ;D

Dreams that seem to predict the future are known as precognitive dreams. They're one of those things where some people believe in them and others don't. Personally, I don't and just think they're funny coincidents. For example one night I dreamt of making a peanut butter ice cream sundae. Later that next day my mom brought home peanut butter ice cream for some reason saying, "I was in the mood." I thought it was a little humorous that I had had a dream prior to this predicting it but I don't believe dreams to be future tellers. However you're free to believe in that and I encourage you to look into it if you're curious but don't believe it completely without at least putting some thought into it.

I think that when we have dreams or "predictions" of the future, either we are very observant of our surroundings, or there is a coincidence of sorts. We don't necessarily have to be asleep.

For example, I had a dream in high school of a young man or boy killing himself. Two weeks later, we were all dragged to the auditorium to be told that a fellow classmate had killed himself. Was that some kind of spiritual precognition, or was I merely observant of subtle behavioral changes in my classmate before he committed suicide? I'd lean more towards the latter.

Similarly, I was once working with in my Mom's office, helping her boss move some boxes around in the attic (awake). The attic roof seemed very weak, so I chickened out. That week, someone else was hired to do the same job, but crashed through the ceiling. Was that a premonition, or was I merely observant of the environment? Again, I'd lean more towards the latter.
