Does anyone with ADD keep a Dream Journal on here?

I'm interested in studying the dreams of people with attention deficit disorder. Any one with ADD keep a DJ on this site? Or is that like asking if somebody with no legs does kickboxing?

I have ADD and while I don't keep a DJ on here (as most of my dreams are too personal) I DO keep one on my laptop. Why do you ask?

I saw a post you had in another thread that made me think you want to know about how my dreams are, as far as, are they unpredictable/random, etc. Yes, my dreams are very random. One dream may have 10 different plot lines. It may start out as me watching a premier of a movie I starred in, and then all of a sudden aliens will attack, and then all of a sudden I'll defeat the aliens, and then I'll be going to class, and have social problems, and then God will show up, and I'll talk to him, and then he'll take me to the depths of the ocean, and I'll discover new species, and then I will suddenly open up a rift in time, and be stuck in another dimension... it goes on, and on... you get the idea. This is all one dream.

And if you're interested in my dream recall... it is EXCELLENT. I'm also having MUCH success at LD'ing... so I don't think ADD affects that sorta stuff too much.

      Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply!. I was interested in studying how often major random changes take place in the dreams of ADD people. Honestly your description doesn't sound that different from anyone else's dreams. Although it's hard to judge the frequency of those major changes from your description.

Interesting that you recall isn't affected. How's your control over your lucids by the way?

I can do pretty much anything I can imagine.

That's odd. Lemme ask you something else. From what I understand, ADD is the inability to focus on anything for very long. But when you do focus on something for how ever long you are capable of, is it really intense? That would explain you better than average control.

      My attention is intense, yes.

I have ADD and keep a dream journal on here. I'm a little lazy about updating it though.

Guilty as charged. I'm 23 and have ADHD. And keep a journal. Though they're not particularly 'crazy' compared to other dreams. I do have really good recall though.

I never knew this was so common..
Sometimes I wonder if I have ADD, Maybe in a mild form? (No pun intended)
Is there some kind of self diagnosis?

There are a few tests on the internet that allow you to test yourself for ADHD/ADD. I think they should only be used for you to judge whether you need to see a doctor or not.

From ADD / ADHD Tests & Diagnosis: Diagnosing Attention Deficit Disorder in Children & Adults
Keep in mind that the symptoms of ADD/ADHD, such as concentration problems and hyperactivity, can be confused with other disorders and medical problems. Just because it looks like ADD/ADHD doesn’t mean it is, so getting a thorough assessment and diagnosis is important.

I took the adult test, and I had 3 dark squares (One more and I may have ADD, an should see a specialist.)
What do you guys think? Obviously this test isn't foolproof, any suggestions?
I feel like I just get distracted easily, get in trouble, and can't help but talk all through class, and I hate doing work that isn't challenging.

Well if you seriously think you might have something then you should talk to your parents about seeing a specialist.
