Questions about my dreaming!

I've been reviewing my dream journals, and it seems that I usually dream about things I did an hour or two ago, or on that same day. Does anyone else get this? For example: I watched a movie about this Japanese Robin Hood character named Goemon, and he had been training since he was young with another and ended up fighting that same guy eventually. My dream that night had the same plot. Feedback please?

This is sometimes called the bleed through effect. Things from your day to day life will appear in your dreams. This is very typical.

For me it seems like a lot of my dreams are just completely random. I'm sure a psychologist would argue but I have a hard time finding the cause for a lot of my dream elements other than the fact that maybe I was daydreaming about something loosely related at some point in the last week. The locations and characters though, are usually based on the places and people I see the most.
