      Euphoria Felt During Sleep Paralysis

      Hey everybody,

This is my first post on this site and I'm still learning about Lucid Dreaming and everything involved, so I apologize if I get some terminology wrong here.

Anyways, I haven't experienced this in years, but I felt that its worth sharing.

One time I fell asleep in the afternoon while I was watching television and I had the lights on. I'd fall asleep, and then be awakened by the television, but not enough to become fully awake. It was more like, my mind would become aware thats its sleeping, but my eyes did not open and my body did not move, which I'm assuming is sleep paralysis.

Anyways, during this "sleep paralysis", I started to feel euphoria while I was "half awake" and it felt really good. As if, I was on a drug. I remember just feeling this shower like essence of dopamine just hitting me over and over and it got to a point where I even started laughing in my sleep and wanted to prolong the sleep paralysis as long as I could before I drifted back into REM.

Has anyone else heard of this or experienced it?

I have experienced this a little maybe not quite as intense. I think its just that you enjoy dreaming and appreciate this, I felt this when I was younger very similar to the tv almost waking you up and that is why I got interested in lucid dreaming.

Sleep paralysis for me is usually very unpleasant. But sometimes I have a euphoric feeling when I'm going into or coming out of sleep that makes me feel like my arms and legs are very far away from me. It's wonderful. If there is a drug to make that feeling, I understand why people take it.

Sometimes I get a feeling like that during a WILD. Normally, during SP, I just feel pure chemical terror. Irrational adrenaline fueled fear.

Yes, it's like a drug. A very very good drug . It happens as you are between REM phases and remain conscious. For me it feels like the warmest blanket in the world .
