      Uberman substitute/variation

I am thinking about starting ubermaning, but i cant afford to sleep every 4hours or so. So is it possible to gain long enough REM-dream with 1hour naps every 8hours? This could help me gain time to work normaly. I am skeptic about the REM part. I am afraid that REM wont happen with this as good as it would with uberman.

If my model is impossible, what would you suggest me to try to maximize my efficency as staying awake as many hours in a day as possible, and have a 8hour straight uptime.
I have ubermaned before, but at this point of life i really dont have time for that 20minute nap at noon. What do you suggest?

It wouldn't work as 60 minutes is not enough to enter naturally to REM but it's too long if you enter REM straight away. You'd just oversleep a ton or wake up super groggy.

You can always either live biphasically or use everyman with 4.5h core + 2 naps, that should give you just about enough time awake.
