I know what you mean. It'd be good to get some regularity in my life as well. To bad I'm not old enough to join the army... Ultimately it's your decision, but it sounds like a good idea to me.
"Angel of the Lord, what are these tortured screams?" And the angel said unto me, "These are the cries of the carrots. You see, reverend Maynard tomorrow is harvest day, and to them it is the holocaust."

Don't do it. Your reasons for joining the military are terrible. I used to be in the Marines. Your sleep will be regulated, but you'll be more tired and stressed out than you are now.
You might "straighten yourself out," but LDing, Astral projection, and meditation, you won't have any more time or energy to do those than you do right now.

      I completely agree with IL.

(How I Met Your Mother Quote) In this kind of situation, you would be best off creating a list of pros and cons. But I'm so nice, I actually made a small one for you.

      PROS

      - Escaping stress
      - Regular sleep schedule

      CONS
      - Intense training for the army
      - Often very busy days leaving you tired
      - Not enough strength to prepare for dreaming and such?
      - Away from family, friends

In the end, if you feel that the risks are worth the end benefits, then by all means go for it. It just depends on how bad your situation is at the moment and how much you could deal with (physically / mentally speaking) by joining the military.

Best of wishes to you though.
