      WTG Ame!!
      Great reports everyone!

I am doing very NOT well.
I felt poorly yesterday. I had diarrhea and no energy. I ate 1 JD Breakfast bowl, some blueberries and that's it. I drank about 2 cans of CF Coke.
By last night I was feeling even worse. I went to bed fore 1AM. I woke up at 7AM feeling like vomiting, so I have slept literally, all day today. I go into hybernation mode when I feel extremely ill. I woke at about 6PM and I just ate a JD Breakfast Bowl and I'm about to have some blueberries.
I've been nursing a can of CF Coke.
I doubt I will exercise today.

      Buddy's name: Mysterious Dreamer
Progress as a Buddy: 10 - thanks for thinking of me
Progress for Buddy: 9 Keep up the great work but try adding more veggies

My mood is neutral other than wanting to shoot my ever barking dog. The cat's in heat and Brooke (the dog) is jealous of the attention the cat is getting.
      My health sucks
Meds: Norms, I'm behind on my antibiotics due to sleeping so much *grrr*

For sleep, I got about 16 hours.
Cigarettes: 1 pack yesterday, 3 cigarettes so far today but I'll probably finish 1 pack.
Everything else is a zero. I haven't even combed my hair today.
Well, Recreation is at a 10 because all I've been doing is watching TV, Hulu and playing video games.

Zhaylin, I hope you feel better.

Sandform, good job on all that cardio!

Mysterious dreamer, Ozzi99, and Jeff777--keep it up, guys.

Ame, thanks. I'm going to do better on my eating starting tomorrow. I'll think of your success everytime I am craving something that I'm not supposed to eat.

I am a little behind this week. So far this week I have done: shoulder, chest and back, core, pilates, my routine with various things like squat jumps 30 minutes. I missed my leg workout becaseu something unexpected came up during the time I had planned to do it. I'll try to make it up tomorrow.

      Overall...

I feel like I'm actually making progress in the muscle building finally. My arms, shoulders, legs, and abs are harder. Now I just have to lose more fat to let the muscles show more. So I will be eating a more restrictive diet for the next little while. I will also be taking "before" pictures tomorrow. I don't think I will have the nerve to post them. But maybe I will when I can post an "after" picture next to it where I look much better. We'll see.....

Open Question to DV Fit Clubbers: I have a six pack (abs) already...thing is they BARELY show because of the layer of fat on top. What foods should I consume so that my abs stand out more? All answers welcome.

[soapbox] Seriously, if I'm able to do this, anyone can. When I'd try to change my eating habits, my motivation would last about 3-4 days before I'd find myself eating the same stuff I always was. Being a part of a group of people who are all trying to lose weight and in general desire to live healthier lives has made all the difference. Even if I'm not always on track, especially when it comes to exercising, every week I'm reminded of my desire to live better and that has helped me to at least think of what I'm doing when I eat and when I'm just sitting somewhere.

I'm getting closer to my goal and I love it. If I can do it, so can you. Srsly.

      [/soapbox]
Aww Ame's that just wonderful And to be completely honest...this club is motivating me because I feel that if I don't weigh in as often as I should...others within the club are noticing (not to mention my buddy is keeping tabs on me and rating me which is what buddies are supposed to do). In addition to that...I hear stories like yours and the feats that the others are accomplishing and feel pumped to go out there and do it myself.

Go ahead and do it! I'm going to post some B & A's as soon as I get a camera. If anything, it shows off progress as well as forces others to keep us accountable for the goals we've set for ourselves.

Zhaylin: I'm sorry to hear you've been under the weather . Good thing you've been posting reports round the clock in days past to compensate for a little "down" time .

MoS: Great work buddy Though, let's start staying on each other about our work though. Monitoring to extremes...if you don't stay true to the regiment you've set for yourself, I will be asking questions. I expect the same treatment!

Sandy: Barely gotten a full membership and you're already cardio'ing it up . Keep it up bro...that 2 hour cardio session made me smile.

Mystery: What can I say? You seem to be on the ball!

      I hope I didn't leave out anyone.

Well, I'm not a pro at this. But since I am in the same situation, I'll share what I am going to do.

Since I want to gain muscle, I want to eat a decent amount of lean protein.

So for my meat I can eat lean steak. For ground beef, I got some lean cuts of meat--in my case london broil because it was on sale--and had the butcher cut off all visible fat and then grind it, then I divided it up into individual servings and put them in the freezer, so I can take them out one at a time. I do the same with chicken breast. I cook up a bunch and divide them and freeze it. I sometimes eat things like shrimp for variety.

For things like eggs, to cut back on fat you can cook up several whites with one yolk.

I also like fat free cottage cheese on salads.

Then besides lean proteins I'll mostly fill up on fruits and veggies, because those are good for fiber and nutrition/vitamins.

Then there are starches which I am going to temporarily stay away from. But if you choose to eat them stick to things like beans, whole wheat bread instead of white, brown rice instead of white...and just those kind of common sense choices.

I am completely staying away from sugars. If I need anything sweetened I use a tiny bit of stevia.

Oh, and also eat small mini meals through out the day (they usually say 6) instead of just a couple of really heavy meals.

      And don't eat after 7:00.

So anyway, that's my plan. We'll see if I can lose that layer of fat by doing this....(and all the exercise).

Edit: And if possible stay away from all fast foods!

      Zhalyn: Get well soon!

Jeff777: When I tried using foods to loose the stomach fat, I ended up with losing my cheecks, while the fat's still there. After a while everyone thought I lost weight, but somehow only my cheecks were lost. Without serious running or swimming you can hardly accomplish anything, really.

      By the way...

I will be leaving town this afternoon until Saturday night. I don't know if I will be able to post or not. So if you don't hear from me, that's why. But I'll still be eating right and exercising. I'll give my report when I get back.

I haven't been doing regular exercises daily, simply because I don't have the time, nor the energy after coming home from working. Plus I really don't think I could stand my muscles being any more sore than they already are at then of the day.

      Name (Username suffices): Josh
Cardio workout(s) done this week: I walk about a mile or so in the mornings and again in the evening, plus climbing up and down ladders all day.
Weight workout(s) done this week: I did do some pull-ups and chinups early in the week, as well as 60x4 reps of grippers every other day or so, and carrying concrete blocks in a pinch grip for as long as I can hold them.
Areas of body worked this week: Just about everything.
Current weight: 145lbs, far as I know. I'll weigh myself on one of those dime scales next time I'm out somewhere that has one.
      Current buddy: Jeff777
Foods consumed today: Peanut butter sandwich on homemade white wheat bread for breakfast, one and a half humongous burritos and a piece of cake for lunch (my mom has been making us lunch every day and bringing it over. Yesterday was 16 bean soup) and a chicken breast with fried onions and potatoes for supper.
Drinks consumed today: A few swallows of OJ in the morning, 72 oz of water throughout the day (haven't drank that much water in ages, I'm finally drinking enough!) and a glass of sweet tea at supper. Oh, and a Coke *coughwithBacardicough* just now.
Buddy's performance as a buddy (1/10): 9/10 - Could check in more often, but so could I!
      Rate your buddy's progress (1/10): 9/10 - Sounds like you're doing great.
Rate your own progress: (1/10): 7/10 - I need to work on triceps, lats, and burn some flab off so that I can see my abs, like Jeff.

Sorry I haven't been checking in every day: it's not because I haven't been doing anything, quite the opposite. I never realized how much work roofing is! My legs are getting really toned; I'm constantly up and down off my knees, crouching, or up and down a ladder, often carrying loads. My back is developing slowly but surely, and my arms are progressing well I think. Abs are on their way to a four-pack, at the least.

My goals are to continue to exert myself every day, test my limits, and of course include such things as crunches, push-ups, pull-ups, chin-ups, and the like. I also need to drink more water and eat more vegetables and fruit, along with less sugar. I'd like to keep getting up early and going to bed at a decent hour, but maybe 7-8:00am might be more reasonable than 6:30am if I'm not working.

And Jeff, I'll try to watch you more closely, and you do the same to me. I appreciate it! I haven't been on MSN much lately due to not being online much period, but that should change soon I hope.

Thanks everyone. I still feel like major crap, but I came out of my "coma" today at nearly 3PM so I must be getting a little better. My back is in absolute agony. I don't know if it's from sleeping so much, from being horribly dehydrated or a combination of both. I took Naproxen for it and it did NOTHING, so I'm about to take some ancient pyridium (normally for UTI's and pain associated with urination but if my kidney's are spazing from dehydration it may help... or make me puke, but then I'd know which problem it is lol *sigh*)

Cardio workout(s) done today: 10 minute brisk walk
Weight workout(s) done today: 30 minute stretches (to be done after this post)
Areas of body worked today: back, back, back... other areas are a side effect lol
      Current weight: 128
      Current buddy: Mysterious Dreamer
Foods consumed today: Snack sized Carrot cake, 1/2 CF Coke; JD Breakfast Bowl, 1/2 CF Coke; 1 7/8 bag of plain chips for upset stomach
Drinks consumed today: Currently consuming 44 oz. Fountain Pepsi AND 24 oz Strawberry/Banana Fruit Smoothie with meal supplimented vitamins and whipped cream; later I will have a 20 oz Vitamin Water and/or small bottle of Sprite depending on stomach

Blah... no bath for me tonight. I'll have to suffice with another baby wipe/alcohol rub down. Hubby sent me home to the RV when he saw how sick I look. My face is also red and I have a high fever according to his hands. I normally get cold very easily especially in his house which he tends to keep at 60 degrees. While talking to him, I felt like it was at least 80 degrees. Being the only doctor and surgeon in his practice, he can't afford to get sick... and I feel like puking again so I wouldn't be any company. My back is also starting to hurt again. Maybe I abused my kidney's for too long and now have an infection (???). Grrr... time for Cranberry Juice and more sleep.

I'm back from being out of town. I didn't get a lot of exercising done (except walking). But I did stay true to my goal of eating the way I planned even though I was surrounded by fattening food (but by now I'm getting really good at not eating what everyone else is eating).

Anyway, I'll start posting again tomorrow with my workouts and diet, etc.

Overall...I'm feeling pretty good about myself.

Hope everyone else is doing great.

Cardio workout(s) done today: Not much. Does helping set up a ropes course and walking after my dog (who is running off) at a brisk pace count?
Weight workout(s) done today: Chin-ups, pull-ups, back presses, grippers (72x2 in each hand) and carrying various ropes and harnesses.
Areas of body worked today: Arms, back.
Current weight: I need a scale, heh.
Current buddy: Jeff of the Triple Sevens
Foods consumed today: Umm, one Arby's roast beef sandwich ( a Beef & Cheddar minus the cheddar, and plus half the meat from another, those things are tiny...), a huge sliced smoked turkey barbecue sandwich with chips for lunch, a mint Oreo Blizzard at Dairy Queen, along with a few fries (to keep my teeth warm and prevent brainfreeze) and a burger, and a bowl of Rice Krispies with sugar. Oh, and a watermelon lollipop and a few Smarties. Possibly too much sugar.
Drinks consumed today: OJ, Mountain Dew at lunch, Dr. Pepper (though not much) later, and OJ again just now.
Buddy's performance as a buddy (1/10): AWOL! Report in, Jeff of the Triple Sevens, report in!
Rate your buddy's progress (1/10): See above.

Mysterious Dreamer. Hope your life calms down some.

TwoShadows, I can't believe I forgot your trip. How was it? Glad you're back and that you stuck with your diet And yes, walking definitely counts.

MOS, walking is great exercise It's all I do sometimes lol. Setting up ropes sounds interesting and tiring.

Cardio workout(s) done today: Walking, carrying heavy boxes for hubby, climbing stairs to help him fix the cable in his waiting room, climbed a very steep hill and I was interested to discover most of the strain was felt along the FRONT of my upper legs.
Weight workout(s) done today: See above
Areas of body worked today: overall
Current weight: 128 but horribly bloated ("Mr. Monthly" should strike in a couple days)
      Current buddy: Mysterious Dreamer
Foods consumed today: 3 McD's Pancakes with butter and syrup, half a hashbrown, a sausage, a 32 oz Fountain Pepsi; half of a grilled stuffed steak burrito from Taco Bell. I always get the meal which comes with nachos but I never eat them and I never eat more than half the burrito, I should stop wasting my money... a large Pepsi; a medium movie theater popcorn drenched in butter, a medium Pepsi
Drinks consumed today: *blah* I'm back sliding again. I WILL drink a 20 oz water and a cup of Cranberry Juice before going to sleep.

And now I have a slight sore throat from dictating a book "Body Language" for the past 1 hour 23 minutes (dictating or copying out by hand is the only way I can retain anything I learn)

Cardio workout(s) done today: 40 many speed walking (as close to jogging as I will EVER get lol)
      Weight workout(s) done today: ditto
Areas of body worked today: legs, arms
Current weight: blah.. 130, but I am extremely bloated
      Current buddy: Mysterious Dreamer
Foods consumed today: About 18 oz. Vitamin Water, Special K Chocolate breakfast bar, few sips of CF Coke... still no appetite but a headache forced me to eat by 5PM or so so I cooked 4 pieces of chicken liver in seasoned salt only and they were very good. An hour or so later I made 3 more then went to Wendy's for a large coke, a large fry and a side salad which I still haven't eaten yet (the salad); another Special K Bar
Drinks consumed today: the above and I am now nursing a Pina Colada Wine Cooler

Health: ??? The stress is effecting my mind. I'm disassociating when out of the RV, my memory and recall is horrendous. I couldn't remember the first name of a member of my congregation who is like a father to me. Now I'm obsessively repeating in my mind all the names of our active 50 some-odd members. I can't believe I forgot his name and it depresses me. I haven't attended a meeting in over a month but that still doesn't excuse the lapse.

**Edit** finished the wine cooler, ate the salad, am currently nursing a Coke.
My health has declined more physically. My stupid left big toe is in constant need of being popped but when I rub it against the floor as is my habit, it merely irritates the callus on the front of the toe and causes it to throb without popping. Popping it with my hand doesn't get the right joint and I'm left unsatisfied. I'm also cramping a GREAT deal and my back is hurting some... stupid Period. I don't know HOW or WHY the anti-depressants Prozac and Lexapro kept that physical pain away for the most part, but Celexa just is NOT cutting it.

I'm staying up all night because I have to be at Court early in the morning. So I'm ending my "day" now.

I've been really busy so I haven't done as much working out as I wanted. But I'll share what I have done.

      Tuesday:

      Name (Username suffices): Twoshadows

      Other workout: Pilates

Foods consumed today: I know I didn't eat enough. I was gone most of the day.

      Ground beef and mustard

      Broccoli

      Apple

Cottage cheese blended in a blender with some strawberries sweetened with a few drops of chocolate stevia (sooo good).

Edit: I just now finished an intense shoulders, chest workout and it's surprising how it is affecting my typing.

Forgot to write up my Tuesday report. Bad me.

      Name: A. Star
Date of joining fitness club: 2/13/09
      Current weight: 223.8 (+1.8)

Fitness Report: Um, not so good. I went for my usual Wednesday walk. Shins hurt like crazy again and the tendon behind my right knee was sore the next day. Nothing else was really done this week. Overall effort: 2/10

Nutrition Report: I could have done better, but in my defense, we did have company pretty much the whole week, so we made more food and higher calorie food than we normally would have. Also, I went out to eat twice, stuffing myself the first time (Mexican), and doing fairly well the second time (Chinese: broccoli in garlic sauce with white rice). The Girlscout cookies didn't help, though Overall effort: 6/10

Overall, I'm feeling pretty good. I still need to start getting to bed earlier, but I can't seem to make myself stop writing or watching a show when I get in bed. I have enjoyed having family home and am looking forward to going to Portland this weekend. I've smiled and laughed a lot.

Goal for this coming week: At least 20 minutes of concentrated effort 3 times this week, be it through walking, DDR, or some other activity.

Mid-range goal: Be down to 218 by the time I go up to Montana (3/28/09). That's only 5 pounds!!! SO CLOSE!

Long-term goal: Be under 200 pounds by the end of the year. Heck, yah! Oh, and I'll reward myself with a pair of LandRoller Skates, at least when I get back to the US.

TwoShadows inspired me to buy some cottage cheese and I ate some this morning

But I have a love/hate relationship with the food. I love the taste but the texture turns me off lol. It amuses and annoys me so it's not something I eat very often.
I wish I was talented in the kitchen TwoShadows... or better yet, that I was talented at cleaning up after myself lol but I'm not so I usually just avoid cooking. I made myself an alcoholic icecream drink almost a month ago and the single serving sized blender is STILL soaking in the sink

Keep enjoying your visit Ame! You can reach your goals with flying colors!

Cardio workout(s) done today: Absolutely nothing. I'm too emotionally drained

Foods consumed today: Cottage cheese single with pineapple, few sips of Sprite; large Coke (of which I only actually drank a couple sips GRRR); JD Breakfast Bowl, Wine Cooler.
Drinks consumed today: less than 20 oz of fluid so far excluding the wine cooler. I'm about to have another wine cooler and finish the Sprite from earlier. I'm also going to drink a tiny bottle of Strawberry Milk to help settle my stomach

Total Sleep: ??? I fell asleep holding my cigarette earlier this afternoon. I woke up when the heat got to my fingers and the shock made me drop it *stupid, stupid, stupid me!* I *think* I then slept for little over an hour. My mind is starting to slip a little more but it's almost enjoyable. Flashing back and forth between reality, perceived reality, and dreams is very entertaining. I'll sleep like a log tonight.
      Quality of Sleep: ???
Cigarettes: I've lost count. I've gone through almost 6 packs since Monday morning.

      **Eidt**
I don't know if I'll be able to sleep or not at this point. I've had a total of 3 wine coolers since after my meeting this morning and sleep is currently evading me none-the-less.
My tummy trouble was deuodenitis related because of the wine coolers, nicotine and stress I'm sure. The milk eased it for awhile. An hour ago I cooked 5 chicken livers and now my stomach is warring with me again. *blah*
I'm sick of my "butt belly" lol. My posture is poor and when I slump it rubs uncomfortably. I understand now why a lot of heavy-set people I've known prefer to wear their pants above their stomach
I think I'm going to go rough it in the woods after Sunday for a few days. That'll help whip me back into shape

Thanks. Boy do I know it. The butt fell onto a pair of earbuds beside my couch and I was so out of it I was certain they'd be ruined. Thankfully, I put it out in time.

Why didn't you fill in anything for Cardio and Weight? The Kite Wing looks extremely fun but I can imagine working an hour on it is quite an exercise!!
